bdTrial: Can't make this stuff up!

The bd team test out new make-up products that have landed in the office.

I recently dropped my NP Set California Cool Bronzing Powder on the bathroom floor and was devastated when it smashed everywhere, so was pretty thrilled when the brand’s new bronzer offering arrived on my desk. Living up to expectations, the NP Set Bronze Blush & Go Duo delivers the perfect healthy colour to cheeks with a soft texture. What’s even more exciting about this bronzer is that it also includes a blush, so I can instantly use both bronzer and blush to create contours on my face. With a matte finish and generous packaging, this duo is going to take me right through summer into the winter months (unless I manage to drop this one as well!). - Yelena

Some of my earliest memories are of my sister and I using crayons to give our unbeknownst dolls makeovers, so it’s with a hint of nostalgia that I tried and tested Face of Australia’s new lip crayons this week. While my make-up skills have improved since I was five (here’s hoping), the ease of use of these crayons is still there. The colour comes on bold while the formula feels nourishing and smooth on lips. The sheer finish gives lips a fuller appearance and I love the fact it is so long-lasting. In the picture I’m wearing the shade Macaron. - Eliza

COVERGIRL Lipslicks Smoochies are a selection of yummy lip balm sticks. I was lucky enough to try the Sweet Treat flavour, leaving my lips with a raspberry-flavour. The lightweight, moisturising lip balm not only delivered a hint of sheer colour with a glossy sheen, but the non-sticky formula features shea butter that left my lips soft and smooth. The easy to use twist stick allowed for easy, on-the-go application. The actual size of the lip balm was impressive also, only requiring one swipe across the lips to leave them completely treated and (if I say so myself) delicious. Very happy with my smoochie! - Maddie

I will fly you to the moon and back … well I won’t but Chi Chi will. New Chi Chi eyeshadows have just landed at bdHQ and not only does the huge shade range of 24 provide ultimate hours of fun - the shade names are song titles that create entertainment too! The two shades I chose for my lids were Don’t Stop Believin (bringing back memories of Glee) and To the Moon & Back (oh hello again Savage Garden). The Chi Chi baked eyeshadows come housed in a package that makes them look like their own miniature records. The shades apply smooth and blend perfectly, they offer the right amount of colour pay off and don’t fall onto the cheeks to ruin the rest of your make-up. The baked formulas can be applied wet and dry (even more versatile - winning). The darker shades can be used wet as a liner on top of your colour. - Liz
