Essano have announced they are launching Australasia’s first 100% recycled Shampoo and Conditioner bottles. The new bottles are made from rPET – a 100% pre-used recycled material that remains 100% recyclable after use.
The move comes as Essano joins the New Zealand Plastic Packaging Declaration, a collective of forward thinking companies who are locally and globally committed to converting to 100% reusable, recyclable or compostable packaging by 2025 or earlier. Producing these recylced pRET bottles uses 75% less energy than producing new bottles and 56 tonnes of plastic that would otherwise go to waste will be re-purposed.
The new amber bottles contain 25% less plastic than the average haircare product, removing 14 tonnes of plastic from the planet every year. The new design also feature a new ‘Hair to Help’ scale to help quickly identify which product best suits your hair type and easily identifiable pink caps on the conditioners which will cut down on confusion and product waste.
The plant-based shampoo and conditioner formulas will remain the same, continuing to boast a minimum of 90% natural ingredients such as Argan oil, Keratin complex, Aci berry and Coconut milk for beautiful health hair.
The new 100% recycled bottles will be available from late September 2018 in Countdown, New World, Pak'N'Save and The Warehouse stores nationwide.
