L’Oréal says no to plastic packaging

Beauty giant L’Oréal has signed a declaration to combat plastic waste in New Zealand.

They commit to using 100 per cent reusable, recyclable or compostable packaging in their New Zealand operations by 2025 or earlier.

“We know we have a part to play in helping to solve some of the great challenges of our planet and are pleased to reaffirm our commitment in New Zealand through signing this Declaration,” said Rodrigo Pizzaro, Managing Director of L’Oréal Australia and New Zealand. “In doing so, we hope other companies operating in New Zealand will join the Declaration and make similar commitments.”

Tanya Abbott, Group Corporate Communications Manager, L’Oréal New Zealand added, “L’Oréal understands that economic success and environmental performance go hand in hand, therefore ethical companies must be working towards a sustainable economy.

“In signing the New Zealand Plastic Packaging Declaration, L’Oréal is reaffirming our global commitment to responsible packaging. We know there are still many hurdles to come but we are determined to play our part in helping to solve the great challenges of our planet whilst sharing beauty with all.”
