Junkee is excited to announce Reena Gupta as the publication’s new deputy editor.
In her role, Gupta will work with recently appointed editor-in-chief, Alice Griffin, to drive Junkee's editorial coverage and strategy.
Gupta has worked as a senior culture writer at Junkee since February. Prior to that, she was a senior culture writer at MTV Australia and has contributed to publications such as Kill Your Darlings, SBS and The Sydney Morning Herald.
Tara Watson has also been promoted to editor of Punkee, the Australian popular culture and news website run by Junkee Media.
Replacing the publication's head of content and editor, Tahlia Pritchard, Watson will oversee Punkee's voice and editorial coverage across all channels and will also report in to Griffin.
Watson has been deputy editor of Punkee since May 2022 and before that, was a founding staff writer and multimedia producer at the title.
She begins as editor on Monday, December 19.
