According to WWD, makeup artist and founder of clean makeup brand Westman Atelier, Gucci Westman, has just launched a brand new beauty series on YouTube.
Called ‘Makeup and Friends,’ the series centres around Westman making up the faces of celebrity clients such as Martha Stewart, Cameron Diaz, Dakota Fanning and Demi Moore. Moore, who appeared in the first episode, was shown in her Beverly Hills home with Westman, who was perfecting her look, all while chatting about makeup products, dieting and more.
The show will serve as a combination between a makeup tutorial and informal conversation. It aims to portray “real tutorials,” said Westman, in addition to real conversations with her clients, and eventually, Westman’s efforts to evolve Westman Atelier into a fully refillable brand.
“Video content has revolutionised the beauty industry,” Westman told WWD. “It’s a learning curve ’cause for me, I need to be louder about the efforts we make for our products to be as clean as possible. [This series] isn’t a product push – I’m not taking that route. I want it to feel more transparent and to have a nice conversation that feels meaningful.”
Westman’s previous celebrity client base includes the likes of Gwyneth Paltrow, Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz, Julianne Moore, Anne Hathaway and Jennifer Lawrence. Her past high-profile positions include global artistic director at Revlon and artistic director at Lancôme.
