Who: Maticevski
When: 4pm, May 15. The Cutaway, Barangaroo Reserve.

Hair: Renya Xydis for Wella Professionals

Hair look: “It’s Blade Runner, windswept. She’s cool, uncomplicated, and sensuous. We’ve used a lot of gel, a lot of salt spray, a lot of grit - I want them to look natural as though they put it up themselves. I wanted it to look fast - which it does from the use of the gel. It’s a layering of products to reflect Toni Maticevski’s clothing - which is all layering. We’ve layered so many products - the Ocean Spritz, the Sugar Lift, the Perfect Me, the Hairspray - everything is on there; but you need that to get the effortless look. The strength and the structure of the hair is at the back - and that’s where the gel comes in. It’s a high pony with a twist and a clip - working with the ends of the hair to make a beautiful windswept, Blade Runnerish-fringe. It’s the juxtaposition between hard and soft.”

Make-up: Nigel Stanislaus for Maybelline New York

Make-up look: “She needs to be beautiful - very customised look. The skin is optimum - so we’re spending time perfecting the skin. We’ve got the Dream Velvet Foundation on - it’s light, it’s fresh and you can see it on the runway. It’s beautiful, almost translucent. We just apply it on and let skin look like skin. Then we accentuate all our model’s faces with our Blushed Nudes Eyeshadow Palette. We use a loose brush to swipe the eyeshadow along the lash line. We’re not giving any definition, we’re just giving a beautiful hue. We’re then going to the eyeshadow down the cheekbones a little bit to deliver a two dimensional beauty look. For the lips, we’re using Baby Lips, and then we’re going to run that through the brows to spike them up so they have the same consistency as the eyelashes - so the whole look gels in. We’re giving a chaotic lash. Toni loves to challenge you - give you something really beautiful but that’s a bit obscure. We’re bringing character to the face through the eyes - we’re bringing drama to the eyes.”

Nail look: “We’re looking at contouring the nails, so we’re using two tones of colours to elongate the shape of the nail by cutting into the sides with the nude. We’re using Buttercream and Periwinkle.”

Skincare look: “Maticevski has the saying ‘get dressed in beautiful skin’, which suits our brand and suits his brand  - so marrying the two together seemed perfect. Today we’re using Smart Profile on the models - which is our latest innovation. It has four speeds, but we were using it on speed two today, which is the universal speed. Toni actually approached us and said he bought the Clarisonic in America and loved it and wanted us to be involved in the show to make the model’s skin beautiful. He also did a limited-edition sketch especially for the show. The sketch has been incorporated into a sleeve, with the sleeve going over 200 Mia devices for VIP guests. It is an amazing image inspired by the show featuring orchids and a gorgeous model.”
