Sunday Riley launches new niacinamide serum

Reveal clearer-looking radiance with Sunday Riley’s new B₃ Nice 10% Niacinamide Serum

Sunday Riley is excited to announce the brand’s first serum powered by niacinamide– a B3 derivative beneficial to all skin types as it helps to diminish the appearance of pore size, regulates oily skin, and helps to support the skin’s natural moisture barrier.

At 10% strength, B₃ Nice also improves and evens out the signs of blotchy skin tone caused by post-blemish marks and reduces the look of surface redness.

The unique niacinamide formula is balanced with Trans-Resveratrol to neutralise free radicals and lighten the appearance of dark spots and discolouration.

B₃ Nice 10% Niacinamide Serum is the first serum of its kind to incorporate Brightenyl™, a biotechnologically created molecule activated by the skin’s microbiome to brighten the overall look of skin and soothe the signs of sensitivity (including redness).

B₃ Nice further improves the look and feel of skin and skin texture with EGCG, a powerful antioxidant, fights the look of visible aging effects from pollution and oxidative stress, while Boswellia Serrata (Indian Frankincense), Curcuminoids, and Madecassoside + Asiaticoside slow down the look of aging, soothe blemishes, and support natural collagen production while accelerating the skin repair process.

Powered by science and balanced by botanicals, key benefits of B₃ Nice include:

  • Improves oiliness and helps to minimise the appearance of pores.
  • Improves the look of post-acne dark spots.
  • Soothes the appearance of surface redness.
  • Supports the skin’s natural moisture barrier.
  • Fights the look of visible aging effects from pollution and oxidative stress.
  • Promotes overall radiance.
  • Suitable for all skin types.
  • Cruelty-free, vegan and pregnancy safe.

An independent study also shows that the look of dark spots, oiliness, and redness improved in just 2 weeks, with even better results at 4 and 8 weeks.

Sunday Riley B₃ Nice 10% Niacinamide Serum is available exclusively at MECCA for RRP $108 (30ml).

Nutrimetics launches Ultra Care+ Platinum Night Rejuvenation Oil

Erase today’s damage tonight by going Platinum, and naturally wake up with firmer, plumper and smoother skin as soon as tomorrow. Ultra Care+ Platinum Night Rejuvenation Oil with Bio Collagen Complex is a high-performing product from the Nutrimetics Beauty Lab that includes premium, natural ingredients.

This advanced facial oil is formulated to stimulate optimal repair and boost collagen production, resulting in plump and glowing skin. With hectic daily schedules, whether it be long hours in the office, or the sprint to the school pick-up, each day, our faces tell a thousand tales of the busy lives we lead. But in the spirit of “getting it all done,” this can lead to unnecessary exposure to the sun and pollution, combined with potentially unhealthy lifestyle choices and the natural ageing process - means your skin and beauty sleep is now more important than ever.

The advanced facial oil is suitable for all skin types, including sensitive or oily skin, and has been specifically designed to cater to individuals with busy schedules. During the night, the oil gets to work, stimulating skin repair and rejuvenation and supporting and re-activating cellular activity, so you wake up ready to face the day with hydrated, visibly stronger and more radiant skin.

The Platinum Night Rejuvenation Facial Oil is formulated from natural origins with potent regenerating active ingredients, including the wrinkle-smoothing potential of Bakuchiol, a natural alternative to Retinol, ideal for those having experienced side effects from Retinol or Retinoids in the past.

Bakuchiol, native to India and Sri Lanka, can also assist in fading dark spots, age spots, sun spots and hyperpigmentation. Using a blend of plant extracts, including Acmella and White Lupin extract for targeting wrinkles and strengthening the skin, marine actives Chlorella extract and Micro-algae extract, the oil helps diminish wrinkles and skin redness.

The formulation is topped off with a blend of six oils; macadamia nut oil, apricot kernel oil, jojoba oil, rosehip oil, sweet almond oil and vitamin E, providing deep nourishment. Apply 3-4 drops at night after cleansing and toning and massage evenly into the face and neck. It can also be used after serum or before your night cream.

With a clean beauty ethos, Nutrimetics has created a product that is cruelty-free, vegan, vegetarian, and free of sulfates, parabens, phthalates, gluten, and soy. The Ultra Care+ Platinum Night Rejuvenation Facial Oil RRP is $104 (30ml).

Nutrimetics introduce refillable colour palette

If you think back to your first beauty lesson, it was more than likely at a young age staring at your mother wistfully, as she leaned over the dresser and painted her lips a brightly hued rouge or dusted her eyes in a glamorously exciting eyeshadow. Nutrimetics has long been part of Australian households, and as one of the Nation’s much-loved natural beauty brands for the past 55 years, it is likely those special memories we hold with our mothers included the use of Nutrimetics products.

With a clean beauty ethos, Nutrimetics continue to lead with environmentally friendly innovation, introducing a refillable colour palette that will continually surprise and delight Mother’s for years to come, making it the perfect gift this Mother’s Day. The Nutrimetics Refillable Colour Palette is housed in a luxe black slim compact made with ten per cent PCR (post-consumer recycled plastic), designed to reduce wastage by simply refilling the palette with new colours instead of throwing the packaging away.

The fully customisable magnetic palette can house up to six eyeshadows or three blushes, highlighters or bronzers, perfect to suit consumers' specific makeup needs in one easy-to-use and convenient compact. There are 10 eyeshadow shades with an array of matte and shimmer finishes. The blush shades come in three options: Peach Dusk, Passion Flower, and Coral Bloom. The highlighter is available in Nude Expression, and the bronzer is available in Radiant Sun. The silicone-treated pearls and pigments give true, intense colour adherence to the skin for longer-lasting colour.

Consumers can feel confident their beauty routine is in safe hands, with Nutrimetics eyeshadows, blushes, highlighter and bronzer all formulated with high-quality ingredients which are vegan-friendly, cruelty-free and fragrance-free. Plus, the shades are enriched with Jojoba Oil and the creamy, blendable colours suit every skin tone.

Linda Konestabo, National Sales & Marketing Director at Nutrimetics reaffirmed the brand's commitment to sustainability, sharing; “With more than 120 billion units of packaging produced each year by the global cosmetics industry, we take our carbon footprint seriously. This innovative palette is a step in the right direction for Nutrimetics's sustainability journey. Not only are our customers creating a lower-waste beauty routine, but there’s also something so satisfying about customising your look and loving every shade. If you run out of any of these vegan-friendly, cruelty-free and fragrance-free colours, you can replace them at any time with minimal expense.”

To use the eyeshadows, apply them over the eyelids using an eyeshadow brush and blend as required. The blush should be applied evenly across the cheekbones using a blush brush. For the bronzer, apply it in a number 3 shape sweeping movement from the temple, across the cheek and along the jawline. Using a small powder brush or blush brush, the highlighter should be dusted to the tops of cheekbones, brow bones, cupid’s bow, and décolletage. The Refillable Palette has an RRP of $26, the Eyeshadow Refills (1.4g) have an RRP of $22 each and the Highlighter, Bronzer and Blush Refills (3g) have an RRP of $28 each.

Nutrimetics introduce Collagen Boost Powder

Since its inception almost 55 years ago, Nutrimetics has grown to become one of Australia’s most loved natural beauty brands and is known for its clean beauty ethos. Fuelled by a continuous stream of innovation, Nutrimetics is now super-charging its skincare approach and nourishing skin from the inside out with the launch of Collagen Boost Powder by Nutrimetics Wellness.

Collagen is a vital, structural protein that scaffolds and strengthens hair, skin, muscles, bones, hair and nails, giving our skin its elasticity and bounce. Collagen plays a crucial role in the health and function of bodies and when regularly consuming Nutrimetics Wellness Collagen Boost Powder it can boost natural collagen production to improve the structure of the skin and reduce the physical signs of ageing.

The Collagen Boost Powder contains a natural berry-flavoured formula made up of seven antioxidant-rich berries and is vegan-friendly, gluten-free, and dairy-free. Designed to create a more resilient skin complexion, it contains skin-loving Vitamins A, C and E, Zinc and Vegan Amino Acids that work together to enhance collagen production and support your skin structure.

Derived from fermented plant sources as opposed to animal products, this formulation is layered with Hyaluronic Acid to rejuvenate the skin and leave it looking soft and supple, while an added Digestive Enzyme blend with Probiotics works to support the digestive system for a healthy microbiome. Collagen declines at a rapid rate of 1% each year after the age of 40 While collagen is produced naturally, it begins to slow down in our 20s and at a rapid decline after 40.

Wrinkles are one of the most tell-tale signs our collagen is reducing. Therefore, maintaining a high level of collagen by taking ingestible supplements can support a smoother skin texture and reduce ageing fine lines. Victor Ngyuen, In-house Chemist and Product Development Specialist at Nutrimetics’ Sydney labs designed the blueprint for the Collagen Boost Powder, which took over two years to perfect.

“Recent data shows that beauty supplements are now the fastest-growing beauty category, which comes as no surprise. We know that when you hit your 40s and upwards, you lose 1% of your natural collagen each year, so it’s imperative you do as much as you can to help you look and feel your best,” comments Victor Nguyen. “At Nutrimetics, we also know how important a healthy microbiome is. This is why we’ve added in a digestive enzyme blend with probiotics to boost your gut health.”

Boost your smoothies, yoghurt, or acai bowls This naturally sweet berry formula features raspberry, strawberry, pomegranate, elderberry, blackcurrant, blueberry and cranberry juice and is consumed by adding it to either cold or room temperature water. Alternatively, it can be added to your smoothies, yoghurt or acai bowls for an extra berry boost. The Collagen Boost Powder comes with 30 x 5g servings per jar, lasting up to 4 weeks. Promote healthy skin, inside and out with Nutrimetics Wellness Collagen Boost Powder.

Lush launches Rewild Your Routine campaign

Lush’s latest campaign explores how cosmetics have the power to rewild your routine and the planet. As the demand for cosmetic products increases, the result is a growing pressure on our planet’s land and the wildlife that it inhabits. Lush’s ‘Rewild your Routine’ campaign aims to address how the beauty industry is in a position to pivot toward protecting and enhancing biodiversity through its supply chains and how customers can make informed choices that benefit the planet.

“Because of the amount of oils, butters, essences, fragrance materials, flowers and herbs traditionally used in cosmetics, the beauty industry is in a prime position to create a supply chain that works with life and not against it," says Ruth Andrade, Lush's Earthcare Strategy Lead. "From creating opportunities for livelihoods on the buffer zones of protected landscapes as alternatives to poaching and deforestation, buying salt from salt pans involved in bird conservation to producing ylang ylang oil in agroforestry systems, every natural or naturally derived material we source has the potential to be regenerative.”

Lush spends over AUD $169 million on purchasing raw materials from communities and suppliers in 80 different countries. With this purchasing power comes the opportunity to invest in regions and organisations that can create positive impacts in their areas. Lush’s aim in buying is to go beyond being ‘sustainable’, or actively doing no harm, and towards contributing to the healthy functioning of living ecosystems. Lush has built this into their ingredients Buying strategy.

Over the years, Lush has conducted research to consider key biodiversity habitats and bird migration zones to explore investing in the people and communities who are protecting and restoring these areas. This has led to the creation of ‘Sourcing Hubs’, where Lush supports local communities in the creation of local entities, to demonstrate how to grow ingredients in ways that are biodiversity friendly and, often, regenerative.

One example of this is a 44-acre plot of land in southeast Lebanon, where Lush established a small bitter orange orchard as an example of how the neroli blossom could be grown in an organic and biodiverse way, in an area that is also a bird migration route.

It is now a no-hunt zone, in order to protect migratory birds from being hunted. Lush funded and supported the planting of over 13,000 trees, and the creation of natural water harvesting structures, like lakes, to promote water for wildlife and to heal the hydrological cycle. The neroli oil from this source can be found in a number of lush products including, Salty body spray, Orange Blossom perfume, and Wig hair trainer. These Sourcing Hubs showcase how it’s possible to have good business practices while also promoting biodiversity, and the livelihoods of local people.

Here are just some of the Lush products and ingredients that support the wild:

Lush Big Shampoo

Protects: Flamingos

Ingredient: Portugese and Croatian Salt

Volumising for the hair and cleansing for the skin, Lush’s sea salt helps birds find a place to rest, nest and feed. Sea birds love salt pans and our suppliers in Croatia and Portugal make sure migrating birds have a safe and friendly place to stop over.

Lush Massage Bars - Charity Pot Coin

Protects: Pygmy Hippos

Ingredient: Sierra Leone Cocoa Butter

The source of the organic, Fair Trade cocoa butter in Charity Pot Coin (and a mix in all massage bars) is from communities living on the edge of the biodiversity-rich Gola Rainforest in Sierra Leone. Lush’s supplier supports farmers in protecting and conserving the forest - home of the pygmy hippo. We encourage farmers to stop deforestation and encroachment on wild land - instead growing in biodiversity friendly ways.

Lush Soap

Protects: Turtles

Ingredient: Organic Coconut Oil

The Organic Coconut Oil in Lush’s in-house soap base comes from Simeulue in Indonesia. Lush’s supplier works with over 500 farmers to grow and harvest coconut sustainably. They also protect marine life habitats, like marine turtle nesting sites.

Good Karma Shower Gel

Protects: Orangutans

Ingredient: Dark Sumatran Patchouli Oil

Happy showers for orangutan habitats. With a rich, earthy scent, Lush’s Dark Sumatran Patchouli oil protects a threatened patch of rainforest. Lush’s supplier educates and works with farmers to grow and process this special plant in ways that are in harmony with one of the last wild homes of the Orangutans.

Klorane partners with Rainforest Rescue

Klorane, a leading botanical and sustainably driven hair-care brand, and the Klorane Botanical Foundation, known globally for their contribution to environmental protection since 1994, have partnered with Rainforest Rescue to enhance their efforts towards Australian rainforest conservation.

This year, they have announced the significant rescue of the Licuala Rainforest Refuge (Lot 41), a richly biodiverse 18-hectare property located within the Cape Kimberley Wildlife Corridor in the World-Heritage Daintree Rainforest. Lot 41 is an exceptional example of pristine Daintree Rainforest, and its rescue has been the most substantial and significant rescue for Rainforest Rescue and their partners, doubling the size of the Cape Kimberley Wildlife Corridor, which further enhances the protection of biodiversity in the region.

Klorane's commitment to sustainability and environmental preservation is evident in their product line which features naturally sourced raw materials that not only benefit hair but also the environment, such as Cupuaçu, Aquatic Mint, and Flaxseed. Additionally, the brand cultivates their own plants to obtain plant-based ingredients and partners with suppliers who follow strict environmental standards. Klorane ensures the sustainability of their resources by tracing and evaluating all plants used in their products, prioritising organic farming to minimise environmental impact during cultivation.

In conjunction with the Klorane Botanical Foundation, Klorane supports initiatives that protect and revive endangered species, restore damaged ecosystems, support local communities, and raise awareness about the importance of protecting rainforests. Thus, the partnership with Rainforest Rescue represents Klorane's dedication to promoting environmental sustainability and preserving plant biodiversity as part of their overarching mission.

“We are so pleased to continue our partnership with Rainforest Rescue in 2023 and support the amazing work they undertake to restore the Daintree Rainforest. Around the world, the Klorane brand joins forces with the Klorane Botanical Foundation (KBF) to protect endangered plant species and preserve natural ecosystems. We are delighted to bring these conservation efforts to Australia to help protect the unique biodiversity of this land.” – Laurent-Emmanuel Saffre, Klorane Australia CEO.

Klorane and the Klorane Botanical Foundation continue their partnership with Rainforest Rescue throughout 2023, building on their contribution of funds to the organisation in 2022. This donation supported the growth of 50,000 rainforest seedlings in Rainforest Rescue's new native nursery. By supporting these conservation initiatives, Klorane protects the invaluable landscapes and biodiversity that make Australia unique. Lot 41’s rescue is testament to the beneficial outcomes of this approach.

“Partnerships extend our reach and our capacity to protect and restore rainforests. When you find value alignment in a partner that brings financial energy to get the job done, that's a rare and wonderful thing. We are grateful that Klorane and the Klorane Botanical Foundation find inspiring value in what Rainforest Rescue does. This partnership protects precious and ancient rainforest habitat and supports the propagation of diverse Daintree seedlings. This partnership, as an example, gives me hope for the future. In practice, it's powerful. Trees are being produced, habitat is being protected, and it helps to mitigate climate change." – Branden Barber, Rainforest Rescue CEO.

The collaboration between Klorane, Klorane Botanical Foundation and Rainforest Rescue sets a commendable precedent for how business and conservation sectors can work together towards a common goal. By supporting Rainforest Rescue, Klorane has demonstrated unwavering commitment to preserving and nurturing our fragile ecosystem. This commitment is vital in safeguarding the biodiversity of the Daintree Rainforest, a World Heritage site, for future generations, and ensuring that the region’s unique and rare inhabitants have a secure habitat and access to food sources.

VOYA partners with Plastic Bank

VOYA Organic Beauty, leading global luxury and sustainable lifestyle brand is pleased to announce the new partnership with Plastic Bank, launching January 2023.

VOYA offers a revolutionary range of results-driven seaweed-based facial and body products, using extracts from seaweed that VOYA sustainably hand-harvest on the west coast of Ireland. With a rich heritage in seaweed bathing, a tradition that is over 300 years old, VOYA creates a range of organic skincare products and spa treatments that are sustainable yet effective.

Since the brand’s inception in 2006, founders Mark and Kira Walton have fostered the belief that “There Must Be A Better Way”, a mission that runs through VOYA’s employees, products, business operations and partnerships, as VOYA continuously seek to improve their eco-efforts and sustainability.

“We are delighted to be partnering with Plastic Bank. They are globally recognised as leaders and innovators in plastic recycling, and we hope to make a measurable environmental and social difference through our partnership with them," said VOYA M.D Mark Walton. "VOYA’s commitment to sustainability is born from our heritage and our love and respect for the ocean. As plastic pollution is one of the biggest environmental threats to our waters, threatening ecosystems and harming biodiversity, VOYA are committed to finding a better way surrounding plastic use, including supporting enterprises like Plastic Bank.

VOYA’s latest partnership with Plastic Bank is a great addition to their environmentally friendly practices and partnerships; from sustainable seaweed harvesting and packaging, to existing partnerships with the Soil Association, World Land Trust and Seal Rescue Ireland.

This January VOYA will partner with Plastic Bank, supporting their mission to stop plastic before it enters the ocean. The equivalent of one garbage truck full of plastic enters the ocean every minute, and by 2050 there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish.

About Plastic Bank

Plastic Bank is a social enterprise working to stop plastic from entering the ocean. Plastic Bank has ethical plastic collection branches within 50 kilometres of coastlines and waterways. The collection community members gather plastic waste directly from local beaches, riverbanks, neighbourhoods, and even households.

Plastic Bank currently operates in Brazil, Egypt, Indonesia, and the Philippines, working towards franchise-based expansion in Cameroon and Thailand. VOYA’s story is one of Innovation, Integrity, and Respect for the Sea. For over 10 years, VOYA has led the way for results-driven, certified organic skincare worldwide.

Created on the West Coast of Ireland by the Walton family, the skincare and body care line evolved from the widely acclaimed family-run seaweed baths in Strandhill, Co. Sligo which first opened in 1912. As the reputation of the baths spread, the idea was born to help visitors to create a similar experience at home.

The family combined their knowledge of the therapeutic properties of their hand-picked, wild seaweed with the expertise of highly skilled natural cosmetic scientists, marine biologists and dermatologists from around the world to create VOYA.

Harnessing the unique restorative, healing and anti-ageing properties of seaweed, blended with the purest active organic ingredients and essential oils into exceptional skincare and body care products rich in antioxidants, the Walton Family have launched VOYA in 46 countries into some of the world’s leading Spas.

“VOYA is a like-minded partner that shares our enthusiasm for saving the ocean, commitment to sustainability, and passion for wellness. By partnering with companies who authentically share our purpose, we empower people with products that are making a positive impact in the world," said Plastic Bank.

As well as environmental impact, Plastic Bank supports social change by empowering communities in vulnerable coastal areas with high rates of plastic pollution and poverty. Members of collection communities exchange plastic waste at local collection branches for secure income and life-improving benefits that include access to health, work and life insurance, social assistance, digital connectivity, and fintech services.

Members are registered through the PlasticBank® app powered by Alchemy™, a blockchain-secured platform that records every transaction, enables traceable collection, secures income, and verifies reporting. Collected plastic is reprocessed through partner processors and is reborn as Social Plastic® feedstock, which is used in the manufacturing of products and packaging, helping to give new life old plastic.

VOYA are proud to have made several commitments as of part their Ocean Steward partnership with Plastic Bank. Over the next two years, VOYA pledges to stop the equivalent of over 2 million single-use plastic bottles from entering the ocean in collaboration with Plastic Bank. This is equivalent to over 45,000 kg of plastic and means for every VOYA product sold, VOYA will help to prevent 3 plastic bottles from entering the ocean.

Bioderma launches new cleansing oil

Building on the success of the world’s first-ever Micellar Water, Sensibio H2O, Laboratoire BIODERMA is innovating once again and has created a cleansing oil enriched with the brand’s iconic micellar technology.

Inspired by the skin, Sensibio Micellar Cleansing Oil is a fragrance-free, frictionless makeup remover formulated with sensitive skin at its forefront. The unique formula gently and effectively cleanses the skin, dissolving makeup whilst removing impurities and pollution without leaving a greasy film on the skin.

Key ingredients:

• Grapeseed Oil: Rich in omegas 3 and 6 naturally found in the skin barrier, it works to dissolve makeup while replenishing lost lipids.

• Biomimetic amino acid: Released by the micelles to boost skin nutrition and replenish lost lipids in the barrier function providing comfort to sensitive skin

• Double-action micellar technology: Gentle surfactant creates inverted micelles which break apart to capture makeup, sunscreen, pollution and impurities.

When the product is emulsified, the micelles reform into a classic micelle formation with all the makeup and impurities trapped inside before rinsing. Immediately after use, 98% of women said that the oil effective removes stubborn eye and lip makeup, including waterproof mascara and sunscreen.

“It’s well-recognised how important it is to use cleansers to remove make-up, sunscreen, pollution and other debris from the day to prevent our pore blockage and the potential for ‘inflammaging’” said expert Dr Katherine Armour, Dermatologist. “However, it is also really important to use gentle, nourishing cleansers to achieve this. Using harsh or excessively foaming cleansers may remove debris from the skin, but it also damages the skin barrier, leading to irritation and sensitivity, as well as triggering inflammation which can promote skin aging.”

After landing in-store nationwide at Chemist Warehouse in May, Sensibio Micellar Cleansing Oil has already sold over 700 units within the first couple of weeks with brand fans rushing to try the new product launch for themselves.

Bioderma Sensibio Micellar Cleansing Oil is available now at Chemist Warehouse, RRP $33.99
