MECCA announces its 2026 holiday artist

MECCA has announced its 11th artist collaboration in the retailer’s Holiday Artist series in partnership with the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV), welcoming Tai Snaith for 2026.

Along with NGV and Snaith, MECCA presents Join the Wild Chorus, a joyful celebration of individuality, connection and the freedom to be a little wild.

For the first time as a part of the MECCA and NGV Holiday collaboration, Snaith has created an original artwork especially for the campaign. Titled Party of the Parts, the artwork is a joyful gathering of anthropomorphic characters that reflects community, individuality and belonging.

The cast of characters – the muses, moles, moths and minks – will feature across collectible MECCA gift boxes, bags and cards, plus limited-edition MECCA COSMETICA and MECCA MAX sets, over 100 MECCA store windows across Australia and New Zealand, and digital touchpoints reaching millions, bringing the full chorus to life across the campaign.

"Working with MECCA has been like a beautiful fever dream really, it's such a wonderful and generous company with infectious energy - I love what they do," shared Snaith.

"The amount of enthusiasm and respect for my ideas has been really encouraging and seeing my work come to life is a bit surreal but very exciting."

"In terms of my career, this has been a huge step, and I am super proud to be the latest lucky artist in a growing list of incredible women artists to enter the NGV collection (my hometown institution) as a result of this incredibly important partnership."

Alongside the Holiday campaign, Snaith will present her work, Wild weed tea, at the NGV as a part of NGV Triennial 2026, opening on December 13th at NGV International.

As part of its ongoing commitment to championing women in the arts, MECCA will generously support NGV’s acquisition of new work by Tai Snaith from Wild weed tea. The acquisition will see Snaith's work join the NGV Collection alongside many of the artists who have inspired her throughout her career, continuing MECCA and the NGV’s commitment to supporting Australian women in the arts.

"We are incredibly excited to welcome Tai as our 2026 Holiday Artist. Join the Wild Chorus brings together so many of the ideas we love about art: individuality, storytelling, curiosity and imagination," said MECCA founder and CEO, Jo Horgan.

"Tai's work draws on the stories of women in art history who have long been overlooked, which speaks directly to our own ambition to improve representation of women in the arts."

"Through M-POWER and our partnership with the NGV, we're proud to continue creating opportunities for women in the arts."

The campaign launches on October 27th 2026 in stores and online at mecca.com.
