Rihanna confirms Fenty Skin is coming

Following an entire year of anticipation and unconfirmed chatter, Rihanna has finally confirmed that a Fenty skincare line is imminent.

Speaking to British Vogue for the cover of its May 2020 issue, the singer and businesswoman said for this line, her aim is to uphold the high standards she applies to all of her projects.
“Skincare, it’s the truth. It either works or it doesn’t. There’s nowhere to hide,” she told the publication, adding that her standards are so high that she pens the website copy and product descriptions for Fenty Beauty herself, refusing to release anything that is not up to par.

Speculation about a skincare line first surfaced when ‘Fenty Skin’ was officially listed as a trademark in March last year, but fans have been anticipating the line since 2017, when unreleased products registered under ‘House of Fenty’ were discovered.

The mogul has already set a benchmark for inclusivity in colour cosmetics, thanks to her makeup powerhouse, Fenty Beauty. This industry-changing label brought a never-before-seen shade range to makeup, as well as unique, innovative formulas and high-quality products. And while Fenty Beauty has made baby steps into skincare with its Pro Filt’r Instant Retouch Primer, a lip scrub stick and a makeup refreshing spray, an entire skincare line is yet to be seen.

It is not known how extensive Fenty Skin will be, or when it will launch, but it is expected to be another huge gain for the beauty industry.
