Tried & tested: On counter April

The BD team road-tests all the new and noteworthy products hitting stores this April.

Circa Home Lychee & Rose Diffuser - Sam
What it is: A limited-edition diffuser that has top notes of grape and lychee, middle notes of rose and base notes of strawberry.
My experience: Lychee is a frequently used scent but rarely done well and yet Circa Home have managed to capture the sweetest and most realistic tones of one of my all time favourite fruits! This gorgeous diffuser comes in a frosted white bottle with wooden topper and long diffuser reeds. The scent is sweet but not overpowering and has left my bedroom smelling like a summer’s afternoon.

Circa Home Lychee & Rose Candle - Tiarne
What it is: A limited-edition candle that has top notes of grape and lychee, middle notes of rose and base notes of strawberry.
My experience: Firstly, the smell of this candle is amazing! The lychee note is most apparent, with the rose and strawberry notes making a subtle but delightful appearance once the candle starts burning. Thanks to the soy wax and double wick system, the burning time is also really impressive - I left it for several hours and it was still going strong! The scent carries very nicely, easily covering my entire living room and even drifting into other areas of the house. Additionally, it is housed in a super cute, unique glass jar that looks amazing on my shelf!

Sisley Sisleya Concentrated Firming Body Cream - Georgie
What it is: A powerful anti-aging, toning and beautifying concentrate with a firm, enveloping texture.
My experience: Body products are having a moment so the timing of this launch couldn’t be better. Sisley know skin, and they know hydration too. This moisturiser left my skin feeling so soft and hydrated - perfect for this time of year when the change in temperature makes skin drier than usual. The smell, as with all Sisley products, is comforting and gentle. As body products go, this is definitely on the more luxurious end of the scale and the perfect treat for someone looking to splurge on some winter-proofing skincare.

Sisley Blur Expert Perfecting Smoothing Powder - Jamie
What it is: A blurring and smoothing powder that mattifies skin for a flawless finish.
My experience: I have quite oily skin so a powder is a must in my beauty routine and I am so glad I gave this one a go! It gives my skin a perfectly natural, matte finish which I love and it is so easy to apply. The packaging is luxurious yet sturdy so I don’t have to worry about the powder breaking if I have it in my hand bag, it also has a convenient mirror on the inside so it is perfect to take on the go for touch ups!

Jane Iredale Great Shape Contour KitJess
What it is: A blendable pressed powder contour kit.
My experience: This little contour kit is so handy! It is compact enough to carry with me in my handbag, and is great for on the go touch ups. It comes with a blush, bronzer and highlighter. The colour is super pigmented so a little really goes a long way. The blush is my favourite of the trio and gives my skin a lovely flushed look. The packaging is luxe looking, a beautiful gold case that looks great in my makeup kit. The highlighter is light and natural looking which I love. Another winner by Jane Iredale!

Vera Wang Embrace Fragrance Mist French Lavender and Tuberose - Caitlin
What it is: A fine mist with unique fragrance that blends fresh, fruity accords with delicate florals
My experience: I love having a fragrance mist to spray throughout the day, it has a comforting scent that is lavender and tuberose which isn't overpowering and I have received a few compliments on it when walking around. The mist is super fine and whilst spraying it on my clothes I noticed there is no residue left. The bottle looks great on my desk with a light purple hue and silver top.

Mavala Switzerland Legend Collection - Rachel
What it is: A collection of satiny, shiny, glossy lipsticks with intense or dark nuances.
My experience: I was so excited to trial these lipsticks when they came across my desk! As a huge fan of lipsticks in general, this collection of six different shades is perfect for me to play with my look each day! I love how it ranges from the perfect nude (589 Calypso) to a statement deep burgundy (588 Mata Hari), and also a quirky translucent glitter shade (586 Eldorado) I have used as a lipstick topper! The formula is also amazing and has great colour pay off; enriched with candelila wax, shea butter, aloe vera, and vitamin E, the lipstick glides on smoothly, feels super creamy and leaves my lips moisturised throughout the day.
