Tried & tested: On counter January

The BD team recently road-tested all the new and noteworthy products that hit stores this January.

Here's what they had to say.

Ella Baché Instant Glow Mask - Joanne
What it is: A super thin bio-cellulose sheet mask that infuses its supercharged formula of active ingredients into the skin to rebalance and fast track the skin to plump, dewy hydration.
My experience: I used this in the morning of a makeup free day and was excited to see the glow my skin would get from this pink beauty! It was super easy to use, with enough serum drenching the mask and a little spare to use as you please (I usually smear it on my neck and decolletage). The hot pink mask sheet mask makes it a little different and is definitely reminiscent of the rose ingredients that go into the infusion of this mask. I found that after wearing it for 10 minutes and further rubbing in the excess formula, it definitely helped to add a glow and hydration to my face. My face seemed noticeably brighter and was not left with a sticky residue, which I find some masks to do. I loved using it in the morning as I felt it provided me with a glow for my makeup free day, however it would have also been suitable as a base for makeup.

Mavala Switzerland Dash & Splash Nail Polish Collection - Tamara
What it is: A nail polish collection that expresses the eccentric, neo-culture ‘80s fashion trend with six deep-pigmented shades.
My experience: As someone who loves a splash of colour on her nails, this collection of mini nail polishes really brightened up my world. In shades such as Native Mint, Fancy Pink, Magnetic Purple, Psychedelic Lime, Versatile Red and Vibrant Turquoise, there really is a colour for any occasion. The nail polish brushes on smoothly and due to the high pigment the colours look bold and fun as well as leaving my nails with a shine.

innisfree HELLO 2020 Disney Collection - My Lip Balm Set (Sunkissed Cherry Tea and Ruby Grapefruit Tea) - Kim
What it is: A Disney Donald & Daisy Duck themed Lip Balm Set containing two 15g lip balms.
My experience: This innisfree Lip Balm Set is as cute as they come – one is a yellow tube of lip balm that is lightly scented with a Sunkissed Cherry fragrance and features Donald Duck on the front, and the other is a pink tube fragranced with Ruby Grapefruit Tea and featuring Daisy. The lip balm itself applies to the lips easily using the slanted applicator that is attached to the top and the product has a sheer red colour that only lightly tints the lips.

Key-Sun Zinke Clear Zinke Vegan SPF 50 - Alicia
What it is: A vegan, Australian-owned zinc cream that offers SPF 50 sun protection.
My experience: Key-Sun Zinke Vegan SPF 50 has become a new staple in my day. Upon application it is smooth and moisturising, without being greasy. It looks like I’ve simply moisturised my skin, with only a very slight sunscreen smell. It is thick enough to ensure full coverage with up to four hours of water resistance. Clear Zinke Vegan SPF 50 has stood the test of time on the hottest of beach days. It’s in an adequately sized squeezie bottle that is perfect for the handbag/beachbag. This consciously made sunscreen provides a piece of mind sun protection and good coverage with little to no nasties!

Hask Tea Tree Oil & Rosemary Invigorating Shampoo & Conditioner - Caitlin
What it is: A shampoo and conditioner infused with tea tree oil and rosemary to help cleanse, soothe, rebalance and nourish the scalp and hair.
My experience: Perfect timing to try this product after putting my hair through some serious damage during the silly season. I firstly love the smell of the products that make me feel like I am in a spa. The shampoo works wonders with the tea tree oil that really cleansed my scalp and strands from the buildup of products I had been using, and knowing the rosemary ingredient has helped to reset my scalp. Moving to the conditioner that helped to hydrate my strands and restore its shine without weighing my hair down. I love that it's free from all the nasties such as sulphates, parabens and alcohol, which makes it my go to products for my hair.

Rodan+Fields Recharge Detox Face Mask - Karen
What it is: A creamy, mousse-like face mask that draws out impurities and environmental pollutants that accumulate on the skin.
My Experience: I am already a big fan of Rodan + Fields so to find out they launched a new face mask in the recharge range I knew this was going to be good! The mask is black given the key ingredient being charcoal and volcanic sand. I applied a thin layer to my skin and left it on for 10 minutes. After that I washed it off and my skin felt so much cleaner and highly moisturised given it's formulated with some nourishing ingredients such as mango seed butter, coconut oil and avocado oil that gave my skin this stunning glow! You can never go wrong with a Rodan+Fields product and this mask is a fantastic edition to their range.
