Tried & tested: On counter June

The BD team road-tests all the new and noteworthy products hitting stores this June.

Aveda Cherry Almond Hand and Body Wash - Tiarne
What it is: A 97 per cent naturally derived hand and body wash that provides a luxurious and gentle wash.
My experience: This hand and body wash left my skin feeling so soft and nourished after my shower. My skin has recently been very flakey and dry due to the cold weather, so I feel like this is exactly what it needed to bring back a bit of moisture. The pump also makes it super convenient to use, so you don’t have to mess around in the shower trying to open lids or anything. If you like the scent of cherries, you’re sure to love this product’s sweet, almost lolly-like fragrance.

Bobbi Brown Molten Drama Eye Palette - Monique
What it is: A pigmented palette of metallic and matte eye shadows.
My experience: I have always loved a good eyeshadow for a night out but could never find a palette that gave me a broad range of looks. The Molten Drama Palette from Bobbi Brown is the perfect solution. With a mix of metallic and matte options, I was able to create different looks for different occasions. I also loved that Bobbi Brown offers optional combinations and instructions on their website, meaning I already had the perfect look laid out in front of me. The shadows are super pigmented and lasted well into the night without the need for any touch ups. I would definitely recommend this product to my friends and family.

Jurlique Sweet Violet & Grapefruit Hydrating Mist - Emily
What it is: A lightweight face mist that is infused with sweet violet and grapefruit that helps to replenish dehydrated skin.
My experience: This face mist smells and feels incredible! It has done wonders for my dry skin. I spray the mist over my face before I apply my daily moisturiser and again after I apply my makeup. I have also been taking it to work and spritzing my face for some extra hydration throughout the day. I love it so much that I will be stocking up on this for winter!

Dermalogica AGE bright Spot Fader - Rachel
What it is: A two-in-one brightening spot treatment that reduces the appearance of active breakouts and post-breakout marks.
My experience: This product came at the perfect time as I had an active breakout and a couple of post-breakout marks that needed saving! The formula containing salicylic acid, niacinamide and hexylresorcinol really worked its wonders on these spots. I was pleasantly surprised to see that after only three days, my active breakout had cleared and the post-breakout marks have visibly faded! For someone who has sensitive skin, the product didn’t irritate my skin at all or dry it out. The slim and durable packaging is also great and gives me full control of how much product is squeezed out. This is definitely my new favourite spot treatment (skin savior!)

Arbonne RE9 Advanced Prepwork Overnight Face Jelly - Jamie
What it is: An overnight face jelly to help combat dry skin while sleeping.
My experience: I have very oily skin but during winter even I notice how dried out my skin actually gets. Due to my oily skin I can’t use overly hydrating moisturisers during the day without my makeup sliding off my face, so hydrating overnight is a must for me! The Arbonne RE9 Overnight Face Jelly is perfect for giving my skin the hydration boost it needs overnight to avoid waking up with dry, irritated skin. It is a lightweight jelly so it is comfortable on my skin to sleep in and my skin looks bright and nourished in the morning.

Murad Prebiotic 4-in-1 MultiCleanser - Sam
What it is: A gel-to-oil, makeup-removing cleanser that nourishes with prebiotics to balance skin’s microbiome for healthier-looking skin.
My experience: I’ve been using this cleanser for a few weeks now both morning and night as part of my skincare routine. The consistency is a creamy gel that leaves my skin feeling clean without leaving that stripped and dry feeling that occurs with harsher cleansing alternatives. At night I double cleanse with this product to first remove stubborn makeup and then to cleanse my skin. I love that this is not only a great cleanser but that it incorporates prebiotic ingredients for skin health.

FRESH Rose Deep Hydration Sleeping Mask - Molly
What it is: A two-step mask treatment that instantly drenches skin with moisture and locks it in overnight.
My experience: This was probably the most perfect time for this product to be released - winter causes havoc with my skin and dries it out like crazy. The jar is divided into two halves: in the evening I started with Step One the rosewater cooling gel essence that I applied all over my face and it smelled heavenly, which helped replenish my moisture. I straight away followed with Step Two, which was a water-cream mask to lock in the hydration. The best part is with these masks you don’t wash it off. The cream is powered by time-releasing technology to help keep your skin hydrated while you sleep. My skin was so soft and dewy the next morning that I was receiving compliments at work! It didn’t mess up my sheets and I will most certainly be incorporating this mask into my weekly skincare routine.

Dermalogica AGE bright Clearing Serum - Issy
What it is: A highly concentrated age prevention serum that brightens and clears the skin.
My experience: Applied both morning and evening, I have noticed my skin is hydrated with an even skin tone, contributing to an overall brighter complexion. My skin is clearer as it’s formulated with salicylic acid, noticing a difference in the appearance of my pores.

CND Creative Nail Design VINYLUX Gel-like Effect Top Coat - Jess
What it is: A super strong top-coat that gives nails a lovely gel-like shine.
My experience: I’m always skeptical of top-coats that liken themselves to gel because I’ve never used an at-home polish that comes close to salon gel manicures. Until now! When I paint my nails at home usually they chip within the first day easily, but I used this top-coat three days ago and there still aren't any chips. I will definitely be continuing to use this polish, it’s the most effective polish I’ve ever used.

Max Factor Rise & Shine Mascara - Tamara
What it is: A mascara that volumises, lifts and lengthens. Its formulation incorporates vitamin E and a blend of proteins to keep lashes healthy.
My experience: I found the mascara to be a great all rounder - it absolutely lifted and thickened my lashes and left them looking full. It is a deep black colour which, coupled with the volumising technology made my eyes look open and fresh. It comes in a thick tube which is easy to hold and the brush is a great shape that helped to cover my eyelashes well. The mascara also smells lovely which is likely due to the vitamins and proteins that it contains.

NIVEA Hyaluron Cellular Filler - Alicia
What it is: A serum in ampoule format that stimulates skin cells to produce hyaluron and collagen.
My experience: I really loved everything about these ampoules. The Serum itself is super lightweight and absorbed extremely fast. The serum has a light fragrance and left my skin feeling smooth and pampered each time I used it. The ampoules come in a single or four pack and as you only need to apply such a small amount, each ampoule contains a week’s worth of product. After a week of using this serum I noticed a small change to my skin - it looked fresher and smoother, so I can’t wait to see the benefits of using it long-term.
