New health & beauty mag in Oz aims high

After a range of magazine closures last year, 2016 is starting off on a more optimistic note with the launch of a new quarterly wellness, beauty and nutrition magazine - The House of Wellness. The 100-page glossy magazine expands on the 24-page print insert of the same name that was previously available monthly in all News Corp Australia’s Sunday metropolitan newspapers.

A collaboration between News Corp and pharmaceutical retail chain Chemist Warehouse, the magazine will be co-produced by the two companies - with content for the magazine produced by an independent News Corp Australia editorial team.

Wellness magazine is a great example of the diverse custom marketing solutions News Corp Studios provides to our customers. Wellness magazine will leverage our heritage of creating informative and inspirational content to engage customers and drive demand. Each issue is estimated to reach as many as four million affluent and influential consumers, providing a powerful platform for Chemist Warehouse’s suppliers to target audiences,” says News Corp Australia director of national sales Sharb Farjami.

Chemist Warehouse chief operating officer Mario Tascone adds: “Our aim is that The House of Wellness brand will evolve into Australia’s biggest health media brand; a media brand designed to cement Chemist Warehouse as the number one destination for wellness in Australia.

“This evolution starts with the introduction of this first edition of The House of Wellness magazine. Its mission is to help even more Australians get well, stay well, live well and look fabulous. It will be the new authority in all things health and beauty and, judging by the demand for space from our suppliers, it is sure set to grow bigger and bigger each edition.”

The magazine will be sold in newsagents and Chemist Warehouse stores nationally, with the initial edition of the magazine hitting stores on January 17 free of charge. Subsequent issues will cost $2 per issue and will be available in March, June, September and December.
