Sharri Markson’s role replaced at The Australian

After spicing things up at The Australian during her time as media editor, Sharri Markson is moving into a senior writing role at the newspaper - with business media writer Darren Davidson stepping up to take the reigns.

The former editor of CLEO took on the top role just under two years ago, claiming she would add “attitude” to the media section and admitting she enjoys “a good media war”. Her time in the seat definitely saw Markson live up to her promise, with the journalist not afraid to get her hands dirty for a meaty story.

Davidson has been with The Australian for four years and is the section’s seventh editor in seven years. He was previously the editor of AdNews.
