All Influencers hit with major ban

Social media Influencers have been officially banned from appearing in Federal Government campaigns.

The news comes following the controversial #GirlsMakeYourMove campaign that saw taxpayers’ dollars spent on the sponsored posts encouraging young women to excursus.

A review began in late July shortly after The Daily Telegraph revealed how much Minister Greg Hunt had paid the participating influencers, and now the government has been told by the Assitant Minister of Finance David Coleman to stop social media influencer funding in every department.

Speaking on the decision, Coleman told The Tele: “The government has recently reviewed the use of social media influencers and determined that they will not be used in future campaigns.

There would need to be a demonstrated benefit and demonstrated suitability of any individual going forward, for this to recommence. This would need to include a thorough assessment and vetting process linked to improving the health of Australians.”
