Jen Atkin ventures into fragrance

Ouai Haircare, founded by hairstylist to the stars and total girl-boss Jen Atkin, is venturing into the world of perfume just in time for Christmas.

Dabbling in scent last year with a limited-edition release of three rollerball fragrances, Ouai have now taken the plunge into the big leagues, releasing four 50mL eau de parfums, each one named after Atkin's favourite streets across the world.

The range includes Mercer Street with notes of Turkish rose and lemon, Rue St. Honoré with violet and white musk, Melrose Place scented with bergamot and lychee, and there’s even a node to Aussie girls, with the city-meets-sea scent of North Bondi.

Designed in partnership with New York City-based branding and marketing firm Case Agency, the bottle is exactly what you’d expect from Ouai - uber-chic and simple. Clear glass reveals a muted pastel-toned scent and is finished with Ouai's signature black and white labelling.

“We were inspired by Chanel in the 1920s: simplistic, luxe, and chic,” Atkin told Allure. “The bottle itself took us a while to perfect because we wanted to make sure it was perfect.”

The scents will first be available exclusively via Ouai's website November 13, 2018, with Sephora release dates to follow.
