Jo Malone London names first ever male ambassador

Jo Malone London has signed Star Wars actor, John Boyega as its first ever male ambassador.

The 27 year old kicked off his carer in 2011 when HBO cast him in a boxing drama pilot based on Mike Tyson’s life, Da Brick. But it wasn't until 2014, when he rose to fame after he was confirmed to play Finn in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and again in Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

According to the brand, the London-born actor was selected for his ‘vigour and versatility’, which mirror its scents.

“A born and bred Londoner, John is intelligent, inclusive and witty,” said Jo Malone London global president, Jean-Guillaume Trottier. “He shares our core values of generosity and creativity and is unafraid to speak his mind. His vivacity and whole-heartedness make him a wonderful fit with Jo Malone London and I am delighted to welcome him to the family.”

As for Boyega, he said it's the creativity and storytelling element of the fragrance brand that drew him to the partnership. "It’s something I resonate with, it’s how I work best, with discussion, collaboration and down to earth honesty," he said.
