A new magazine launches

In a sea of magazine closures, a new publication has landed – Grace Magazine. The digital offering for style-conscious mothers has at its helm Georgie Abay. The former Vogue Australia deputy editor founded lifestyle site The Grace Tales three years ago, introducing the monthly online glossy to complement the success of the website.

Comments Abay on her decision to create a digital magazine: "There was a gap in the market for an online magazine that spoke to fashion-forward mothers and I wanted to fill it. No-one was doing a magazine for style-conscious mothers. There are plenty of fantastic glossy fashion and beauty and also mass parenting magazines out there, but nothing glossy for mothers. Grace is a niche title and it fills a huge gap in the market. We will also be doing a print edition next year."

The debut edition of Grace sees actress Teresa Palmer and her son Bodhi take the cover. The first issue includes art direction by Racquel Thomas, photography from Julie Adams, and the contributions of writer Claire Brayford and beauty editor Sarah Brooks-Wilson.

The launch of Grace does not seek to replace The Grace Tales completely, explains Abay: "I’ve worked in fashion magazines for over a decade and left my position of deputy editor at Vogue Australia to focus on The Grace Tales, so doing a magazine felt like a natural next step for me. It’s like the big sister of TGT and an exciting step for the business."
