Gucci appoints royalty

Monegasque royalty Charlotte Casiraghi has been announced as the new face of a Gucci Cosmetics collection. The daughter of Princess Caroline of Monaco will front the high-end cosmetics line when it launches in September in select markets.

Charlotte was a natural choice as she embodies the modern iconic Gucci woman,” says Gucci creative director Frida Giannini.

I have really enjoyed my relationship with Frida over these last four years, and I am now excited to work with her again on this signature product,” says Casiraghi, who is also the face of Gucci’s ‘Forever Now’ ad campaign. I have great admiration for her both as a designer and a strong and visionary woman.”

The Gucci Cosmetics print campaign will be shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, and Fabien Baron will shoot a digital film to accompany the launch.

The range will be released by Procter & Gamble Prestige who have had a licensing agreement with Gucci since 2006.
