Emily Taylor named new editor of InStyle magazine

After heading to London to work extensively in print, digital and social media for some of the UK’s leading lifestyle retail brands, including John Lewis, Marks & Spencer, and Net-A-Porter, Emily Taylor is returning to Australia to take up the position of editor at InStyle.

Taylor is a familiar face in the Australian publishing world, having previously worked as the beauty editor, beauty director, and associate editor at marie claire. Taylor replaces Kirsten Galliott, who is moving in to the editor-in-chief role at Qantas’ print and digital publications.

“I am pleased to announce that Emily will rejoin Pacific Magazines to lead InStyle,” says Pacific Magazines group publisher fashion and health Jackie Frank. “With her exhaustive knowledge of the fashion and beauty industry in the local market, combined with her international experience, Emily is the ideal candidate for the role of editor.”

“I had the pleasure of working with Emily on marie claire for many years and I’m thrilled that we have been able to bring her back from the UK. Her unique experience across print and digital platforms, along with her passion for the industry, will continue to drive the success of the InStyle brand in Australia.”

Taylor will begin in the position on May 4.
