What’s landed on our desks: On Counter in September

The BD team put the latest launches through their paces

Klorane SHAMPOO WITH PEONY and CONDITIONER GEL WITH PEONY – Tash
On counter: September 4
What it is: A shampoo and conditioner duo formulated for sensitive and irritated scalps.
My experience: I struggle to find paraben and silicone free products suitable for my irritated scalp so this pair is a godsend. The beautiful primrose scent is fresh and clean, less earthy than other soothing hair products I have used. The shampoo delicately cleanses my hair without it feeling dry or tight, while the conditioner soothes my scalp. My hair is left soft, weightless and shiny, helping to shake up my Spring hair-care routine and kick my current product dependency.

WOTNOT Natural Self-Tanning Lotion and Tan Application Mitt – Kym
On counter: September 1
What it is: A certified organic self-tanning lotion and velvety soft application mitt.
My experience: I’m a self confessed fake-tan addict and am very conscious of the amount of chemicals I’m applying to my skin while indulging in my addiction. So when the WOTNOT Natural Self-Tanning lotion landed on my desk I was really excited to discover a new tan that I felt comfortable using every other week. This lotion is silky smooth and feels more like a moisturiser than a tan, the cream is subtle in smell and only takes a few hours to develop. The end result is a gorgeous natural tan colour that lasts all week.

Alpha-H Daily Essential Vitamin Mist – Zoe
On counter: September 1
What it is: A weightless, protective facial mist.
My experience: My skincare routine already includes sunscreen and now also something to protect me from environmental factors too. The Alpha-H Daily Essential Vitamin Mist forms an invisible breathable barrier to shield the skin from premature ageing caused by urban pollution and environmental aggressors. When you work in the city, where the climate is constantly changing, this mist is a God send!

Dermalogica PreCleanse Balm – Steph
On counter: September 8
What it is: A ‘skin care step zero’-type balm, designed to dissolve and remove waterproof makeup and sunscreen so that cleansers can work more effectively and penetrate deeper into the skin.
My experience: Already a long time user of the original PreCleanse I was beyond excited to try this new addition. Working into dry skin, this thick balm effortlessly melts and glides across the surface of the skin, lifting makeup and even waterproof mascara. Wetting the little mitt and applying in circular motions picks up any stubborn foundation left in place and gives me that real deep-clean feeling. After rinsing with a little water, everything – literally everything – is washed away, leaving skin bare and ready for cleansing. This balm is just as great as the original PreCleanse and will loving stay in my routine to make sure I always get the most out of my following skin care products.

Benefit Foolproof Brow Powder – Nadine
On counter: September 1
What it is: A brow powder which contains two shades for fuller looking brows
My experience: I love using this to make my brows look full and natural. The lighter to darker shades mimic the look of a natural brow and the applicator makes it super easy to use. I love the cute packaging and after using two shades for my brows I can say they look much more natural!

Mavala Switzerland Delicate Collection – Sam
On counter: September 1
What it is: Mavala Delicate Collection in Mango Orchid is a mini nail polish available in six other shades, in a variety of pink tones, sun-inspired beiges and whites.
My experience: This pocket sized pick me up is a beautiful shade of peachy orange, perfect for spring! The polish dries quickly and has a non offensive smell. It’s lasted really well on my nails which is a great time saving from having to reapply frequently!

Katy Perry INDI – Georgie
On counter: September 1
What it is: Katy Perry’s new fragrance that has notes of white tea and oriental plum, white cedarwood and lily, amber, vanilla and musks.
My experience: Being in my 30s, I’m probably not in Katy Perry’s primary fragrance demographic and I was a little concerned that this scent might transport me back to my school disco days. How wrong I was! The musky notes in this perfume mean that it’s very far from the sickly sweet celebrity fragrances of yore. It’s definitely a mature scent, quite masculine, and one that I wouldn’t hesitate to wear on a night out. Nice job Katy.

Bondi Scrubs Coconut Coffee Body Scrub - Lime Certified Organic – Caitlin
On counter: September 1
What it is: A body scrub enriched with ground coffee beans, coconut oil and lime essential oil to deeply exfoliate the skin and leave it smooth, nourished and zesty.
My experience: This scrub smells like a creamy coconut thick shake, and leaves your skin smelling just as delicious. Finely ground coffee beans and raw sugar work together to gently exfoliate the skin so it’s super smooth and renewed when you’re out of the shower.

What it is: A moisturising sun tan oil with SPF 30 and infused with coconut oil!
My experience: This brand is a childhood favourite! I’ve been using Reef for as long as I can remember – I absolutely love the fact that they have tanning oils WITH SPF, and this is a definite favourite given its infused with delicious coconut oil. It glides on the skin so effortlessly, it smells divine, and it's protecting my skin from the sun, Winner! This is my summer essential beauty product!
