Far from humble beginnings in rural New Zealand, Scullys has become a recognisable player in our bath, body and home industry. With a natural product range inspired by lavender, BD is delighted to welcome the brand to the site this October.
Founded in 1992 by Judy and Gerry Scully, it was the fields of blue surrounding the couple’s rural property in the West Coast of New Zealand which sparked the idea for a boutique beauty brand based on integrity and responsibility to nature. First manufactured in an old wood shed and sold at the couple’s farm gift shop, homegrown lavender was harvested with care to make the beautiful creams, lotions, bath salts, oils, waxes and candles. Now the range has expanded to include Bulgarian Rose, Blush Peony and Gardenia.
Nearly 30 years on, Scullys’ nourishing, moisturising and freshly scented formulas are not only catching the eye of consumers nationally but internationally too, as today the rapidly growing product range is sold to stockists all over the world including in Japan, England, America, Hong Kong and Australia.
Care for the environment has always been a top concern for the original founders, which is why ingredients from New Zealand are sourced when making products, together with the finest essential oils and bio-active ingredients. Scullys is also proudly cruelty free and uses recyclable packaging.
