Following tremendous success in the US, Olay recently launched its first-ever retinol range, the Regenerist Retionol24 collection.
The night time line-up, which includes a face serum, face moisturiser and eye cream, was 20 years in the making. It was developed through trials consisting of 10,000 women, with the end result delivering an envious plump and dewy complexion.
“We listened to our customers and recognised the need to utilise the most talked-about ingredient, retinol,” Olay’s principal scientist, David Khoo, said. “Our team have worked very hard to deliver a unique new formula that delivers youthful complexion without the usual irritation women experience from using retinol.”
One person who knows a thing or two about skincare is Elle Ferguson. As well as being the owner and creative director of brand Elle Effect, the global digital influencer and entrepreneur has also been an Olay ambassador since March last year.
To gain more of an insight into Olay’s new range, and to find out some of Ferguson’s top beauty secrets, BD recently (virtually) sat down with the successful businesswoman.
You're working with Olay as part of its new Regenerist Retinol24 collection. What's your favourite product from the launch?
I would have to say my favourite is the Retinol24 Night Serum. I love the fact that it absorbs super quickly into my skin and I can visually see the improvement it has on my fine lines. It has also made my skin feel so much smoother, brighter and firmer.
Who do you think the products will benefit the most?
I love the Retinol24 products, as they suit just about anyone who wants to see positive changes in their skin. For younger skin, the products work as a preventative against signs of ageing, keeping the skin looking hydrated and plump. For mature aged skin, the range is perfect for smoothing out fine lines and wrinkles to improve overall complexion.
What's your favourite thing about retinol?
At the top of my list is the round-the-clock hydration and the fact that it makes my skin look plump without causing any reaction. This is possible thanks to the exclusively formulated Olay Retinoid Complex, which is a highly stabilised form of retinol that is more concentrated and less irritating.
What do you look for when collaborating with brands?
I love collaborating with brands that I use on a daily basis. Especially brands like Olay who are constantly introducing new scientific innovations and products that provide real results, which keeps our relationship super exciting.
What do you think a skincare brand needs to offer to stand out in today’s market?
Their products need to work. The proof is in the results and that’s why Olay is always at the top of the list as a standout brand on the skincare market. Can you tell us about your skincare routine?
I like to keep my skincare routine quite simple and consistent – it’s what I’ve found works for me. However, when I read about all the amazing results from the Olay Regenerist Retinol24 collection I was excited to introduce it into my routine. I have started off by using the Retinol24 Night Serum on my face every second night, alternating with my Olay Regenerist Micro Sculpting Cream, and now I am LOVING it. I love using a product that works overnight so that you wake up glowing.
How has your skincare routine changed since being in isolation?
I have been focusing a lot more on sticking to a strict routine. Before iso I was travelling so much and working really long days, so I feel that being housebound has enabled me to set some skincare goals and really stick to them.
