Professional Beauty welcomes a new editor

Following the departure of Sally Hunwick to Cosmo, Professional Beauty has welcomed a new face to its team. Alison Donnellan is the publication’s new online and news editor. Donnellan spoke to BD recently about her new role:

Can you tell us about your career history?
I’ve been working as a journalist and an editor in the lifestyle industry for quite some time. I’ve written about everything from restaurant openings, ethical makeup, rural architecture, overseas getaways, burgeoning Australian fashion designers and more. I’ve previously worked at or with Urban Society, LivingSocial, Universal Magazines, Urban Walkabout, The Entourage and Mamamia.

What will be your key role at Professional Beauty?
My key role at Professional Beauty will be developing and utilising the various digital platforms and their followings. I’ll be adding my own unique sense of style and character to these areas while still retaining the core features that define Professional Beauty.

What are you most excited about with the role?
The thing I’m most excited about in the role is immersing myself in the world of the beauty industry and helping to propel Professional Beauty’s digital aspect to even bigger and better things. Not only that, but I’m also looking forward to owning the role entirely by injecting my personality, outlook and ideas into it.
