The new initiative helping media workers with their side hustles

We all love a good side hustle. In fact, an estimated two thirds of Aussies have one. But, for many in the industry staring down the COVID barrel, those side hustles are no longer on the side - they’re more important than ever.

So, to help, Havas Australia is offering anyone in the industry who’s been impacted by COVID19 access to its breadth of capability across the entire Havas Village. And better yet, it's free.

The Havas Hustle initiative sees 35 senior members of the Australian Havas Village, including ANZ group chairman Anthony Freedman, providing advice and support to anyone in the Australian marketing industry. That includes, media, creative, design, management, HR, strategy, innovation, UX, tech consulting, retail, sponsorship, PR, social, influencer, commercial, contractual, financial, and experiential.

“Fittingly, I started my first agency, Host, 20 years ago today and a great many people lent me their counsel over the years as I started, bought, sold, acquired and merged businesses in the UK, Australia and Singapore. It all brought me to the fortunate position of leading some formidable talent across an incredible range of disciplines and I’d have given my right arm to access them when I started out two decades ago,” said Freedman.

“It’s been devastating to see the impact of COVID-19 on the industry and if our expertise can help budding entrepreneurs find their feet again, we’re more than happy to offer it up. I am personally also looking forward to participating and doing what I can to help.”

Those that want assistance for their side hustle can register on the Havas Hustle website, here, and will be matched with the person who best meets their needs. One-on-one, half-hour sessions will take place over confidential video conferencing.

Registrations are now open and the service will be available until July 31, 2020.
