The new service for home-bound Australians

Urban Company, a fast growing platform for quality home services such as home beauty and home cleaning, has recently announced a brand new not-for-profit service to help home-bound Australians during the COVID-19 pandemic.

This service will act as a national aggregator of volunteer services to allow people who are unable to leave their homes to obtain the likes of medication, groceries, home supplies, parcels, and more, which will be delivered straight to their doors – without contact. People can also utilise the service for various errands such as dog walking.

It will be offered Sydney-wide, with the expectation to expand nationwide in due course. Charity organisations, volunteer groups, or anyone who is in a position to lend a hand to those who don’t have the luxury to leave their homes, are being urged to sign up to the platform and offer their services.

“As a 'people-first' organisation, our mission is to help vulnerable Australians during this difficult time, so people who are self-isolating, in quarantine or currently ill from COVID-19 are not in this alone,” Urban Company Australian head of marketing, Lauren Silvers, said. “We will ensure we are able to facilitate the delivery of their essentials in a safe and contactless environment.”

Urban Company will have a customer service team set up to facilitate bookings via the phone for the elderly or those who don’t use apps.
