How to get Kate Hudson’s Golden Globe look

He’s been doing her hair for many years now and can be counted as a good friend, so it was little surprise to discover Kate Hudson called on celebrity stylist David Babaii to create her soft blow-wave for yesterday’s 70th annual Golden Globe Awards.

For this year’s Golden Globes, I wanted to show off Kate’s healthy, shiny hair with a style that emphasised her true Hollywood beauty,” says Babaii.  Kate is our generation’s Brigitte Bardot, with soft, voluptuous hair that is touchable yet glamorous - she is the perfect muse and my inspiration!”

To get the look, Babaii used all products from the DAVID BABAII range – beginning with the heat protection spray Blow Out Rapid Blow Dry Spray to speed up the blow-drying time and provide overall texture and structure to the hair.

Next, he used the Whipped Volume Styling Mousse to add a natural, long-lasting fullness without any heaviness.” Babaii used a medium round brush at the roots to add volume and a large round brush to smooth hair and create soft, rounded edges.

After the hair was dry, he created a natural side part and then gave the hair shine and gloss by lightly misting with Miracle Elixir Nourishing oil Spray. For the fringe, he used a medium round brush and a small amount of Finished Styling Spray with the hair dryer on a high heat followed by a cool blast.

Babaii finished off the look by misting the hair all over with Finished Styling Spray for soft, touchable hair with memory hold.”
