Apple News Publisher site on hunt for editor

Apple is making its first move into publishing with the launch of a news app, and now the tech giant has revealed it is currently searching for a news editor for Australia and New Zealand. The role will involve the management and curation of content, topics and channels.

The job description itself requests those who apply “[have] the ability to track local trends and breaking news, whilst maintaining up-to-the-minute knowledge of the landscape; the biggest publishers and the most contemporary indie bloggers.”

The app itself was announced in June and will launch later this year as a competitor to Facebook’s Instant Articles. It is expected that users will be able to integrate stories directly into the app.
