With a recent study by Cisco finding that 57 per cent of all internet traffic is set to come from mobile devices by 2018, online fashion retailer The Iconic is getting in early - investing heavily in the m-commerce space. But was this a good business decision?
It seems so. The etailer has hit 500,000 app downloads in the last nine months, with 50 per cent of its traffic coming from apps.
"We have experienced a rapid transition from e-commerce to m-commerce, and we’ve continued to invest in and develop solutions which create the best experience for our customers’ fast-paced lifestyles. That strategy has paid off with up to 50 per cent of our traffic now driven from mobile,” Iconic managing director Adam Jacobs told Ragtrader.
"Both our iOS and Android apps achieved number one lifestyle app status on launch while our recently launched mobile-first responsive website, with one of the fastest load times in Australian e-commerce of under two seconds, further enhances our unique shopping experience.”
The Iconic’s success in m-commerce was further cemented with its win in the mobile commerce category at the Online Retail Industry Awards 2014.
