Saving can be a struggle for most, but in this day and age, there is of course an app (or a thousand) to make the process a little less painful.
BD has rounded up some of the best financially savvy apps to help scoop you out of debt and into savings central.
1. Foreceipt Receipt Manager
As its name suggests, this app is a digital alternative to a receipts drawer, recording all of your spendings throughout the month by documenting your receipts in Google Docs. Digitise your receipts by entering data, or take a screenshot and the app will store data for you.
2. CoinKeeper
Currently the most popular finance app in Eastern Europe, Coinkeeper is a personal money manager with a number of different actions. You can record your expenses as well as control your budget. In doing so, the app also helps you to plan for your financial future.
3. Unsplurge
This app uses your saving goals (whether it’s a holiday or a Chanel bag) to motivate you to be more financially savvy. Unsplurge then tracks your saving progress and gives you access to the app’s community so you can share success stories and spur others on.
4. Better Haves
Designed for couples, Better Haves helps to provide simple management of joint accounts. It works by distributing income and tracking your expenses over time, helping you to adjust and set budgets accordingly.
5. Pocketbook
Consider Pocketbook your personal finance assistant. The app tracks spending across bank accounts and on spreadsheets, and has been endorsed by leading financial publications.
6. TrackMySPEND
Monitor your weekly spend and budget very closely with this app, which crafts and tracks a weekly household budget, and takes into account costs for special events (such as weddings) and daily extras like coffee and travel expenses.
7. Debt minder
Who isn’t in debt these days? This app utilises this knowledge and provides a pay-off plan for those struggling with debts of all sizes with the help of personalised charts and reports.
8. Goodbudget
Created for families, Goodbudget considers the income of a group of people, and works out a budget that caters to their priorities accordingly. Some of its benefits include syncing and sharing between multiple people, specific saving goals and analysis of past spends.
9. Splitwise
Splitwise makes splitting expenses easy. Whether it’s the rent or a restaurant outing, IOUs and debts are always covered thanks to a combination of email reminders and a simple dashboard to track spends.
10. ATM Hunter
This Mastercard-developed app simply alerts the user to the closest ATM for their chosen bank in the vicinity (or further afield, for that matter). Overpriced ATM fees, be gone!
