Hear from the beauty bloggers making waves

It’s time to get to know more of our expert panel. Here, we chat with Skeeter & Scout’s Lucy Pilz, An Australian Wintour’s Megan Aney, vlogger Lilian Tahmasian, The Ladida’s Theresa Yu, Once Upon A Cream’s Michelle Ruzzene, and Makeup Tips’ Evangeline Sarney to discuss their blogging highlights, the one piece of advice they would give their readers, and what’s trending in digital beauty content.

What has been your blogging career highlight this year?
Skeeter & Scout - If I had to choose only one thing, it would be my Kidspot Voices Top 5 Beauty and Lifestyle Bloggers (in Australia) nomination.
An Australian Wintour - Moving to Sydney. With endless events as well as beauty and fashion inspiration all around, it's easy to add fuel to the blogging fire.
Lilian Tahmasian - Attending and walking the 2014 ARIA Awards red carpet. I had the opportunity to interview the celebrities that attended, which was also a tick off my bucket list!
The Ladida - Going to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia continues to be my highlight. I love seeing collections brought to life, and how the whole look is completed with hair and makeup.
Once Upon A Cream - I'd have to say being chosen for the BD expert panel!  Interviewing Rosie-Huntington Whiteley one-on-one was also amazing.
Makeup Tips Blog - Reaching 900,000 Followers and being featured in
The Sydney Morning Herald.

What are your readers currently buzzing about?
Skeeter & Scout - People are going crazy for fitness and healthy eating, glycolic acid and SPF... and sharing their love for One Direction! #AdultOneDirectionFan
An Australian Wintour - BB cream has to be the ultimate product of the year, and with so many brands creating their own amazing variants, we are constantly bombarded with questions about the miracle cream and who does it best.
Lilian Tahmasian - They're currently talking non-stop about Kylie Jenner's makeup and inspiration for her daily beauty looks.
Once Upon A Cream - I'm always getting asked about anti-ageing products. Everyone wants to know how to get rid of wrinkles!

In your opinion, what is trending in beauty content at the moment?
Skeeter & Scout - I think there is a trend about makeup application for luminous skin (particularly going into spring), and how to achieve glowing skin minus the hours of effort or expensive skin treatments.
An Australian Wintour - How-to video tutorials make life so much easier.
Lilian Tahmasian - I see a lot of people rocking the natural, glowy and dewy look, with their features highlighted.
The Ladida - Lipstick could be intimidating for some people, so I love how the lip crayon is a great in-betweener for those who shy away from a highly pigmented lipstick.
Once Upon A Cream - Whitening products. Living in Australia, it seems only natural - everyone wants brighter, more luminous skin with even skin tone.

What would you say is your biggest strength?
Skeeter & Scout - Tone of voice! I think my ability to inject humour, self-deprecation and real life experience into my writing is what makes my content different.
Lilian Tahmasian - I think my biggest strength would be the positivity I hopefully inspire my viewers with, as well as my personality.
The Ladida - As cheesy as it sounds, the drive to learn and constantly develop. I really enjoy photography even though I’m definitely not a professional!
Once Upon A Cream - I have a background as a news journalist, so I try to remain objective when reviewing products and present my content in a straightforward manner.

Makeup Tips Blog - My honesty. My readers know that if I rave about a product, I really do love it!

What’s in store for you next?
Skeeter & Scout - I’m moving to London in February 2015 to further my career in digital brand management and travel. Thus, my content will be going transcontinental.
An Australian Wintour - We have a few sneaky beach holidays up our sleeves so look out for travel posts and lots of summer products.
Lilian Tahmasian - I'm very excited to release collaborations with other international vloggers n my channel, as well as working with a few brands that I’ve always adored!
Once Upon A Cream - More expert opinions on my blog and more 'how-to' content.
Makeup Tips Blog - There’s definitely going to be more of a focus on pictorials. I’m hoping to create more visual-based content.

If you could give one piece of beauty advice to your readers, what would it be?
Skeeter & Scout - ALWAYS wear SPF and use medical gauze to cleanse your skin as it helps to even out skin tone.
An Australian Wintour - Keep your makeup brushes and applicators clean! There is nothing worse for your skin than the bacteria build-up in an unclean brush.
Lilian Tahmasian - Nourish your hair weekly, with homemade DIY hair masks.
The Ladida - If possible, try to time your beauty buying with ‘gift with purchase’ offers. If you’re not sure when your favourite brand has these offers, be nice and just ask at a beauty counter!
Once Upon A Cream - More expensive doesn't equal better. Buy products to suit your skin type. And find a beauty therapist that has a long-term plan for you.
Makeup Tips Blog -  If a product sounds like a gimmick, it probably is.
