Fashion designer announces first foray into fragrance

She's the latest fashion designer to join the beauty world - Rebecca Minkoff has announced she will be releasing her first perfume.

"It’s been a year in the making and I am so proud to finally launch my first signature fragrance," Minkoff said via Instagram.

The inspiration behind the self-titled fragrance is very personal for the designer, sharing, "I stopped wearing fragrance when my first baby was born because I didn’t want him to breathe in toxic chemicals and substances. I also didn’t want to create something that would create more waste for our environment."

The fragrance is vegan, gluten-free, phosphate-free and manufactured without animal testing. The carton is made from PEFC certified material that folds into itself to eliminate the use of glue or waste of an additional box layer and is wrapped in a corn-based cello.

In terms of notes, the scent opens with cardamom essence, coriander seeds essence and bergamot; it has a heart of tobacco accord, jasmine absolute and karmaflor; and finishes with tonka, labdanum resin and patchouli essence.

"I designed this fragrance with you and for you and I hope the scent makes all of your milestones that much sweeter to remember," said Minkoff.
