Fragrance “Oscars” winners announced

It’s dubbed the Oscars of the fragrance world, with perfumists from across the globe vying for the top nod at the 23rd Accademia del Profumo Awards.

Held in Bologna, Italy, earlier this month, the biggest winners on the night were Gucci Guilty and , who were both awarded the people’s choice for best male and female fragrances, voted by consumers at 350 perfume stores across Italy.

The awards for best packaging went to Bang Bang for male and Valentina for female, with best niche fragrance won by Santal Rouge Il Profumo for males and Violet Blonde for females.

Armani Code Sport took out the best male communication campaign for both press and TV advertisement, with Prada Candy taking out the female awards for these categories.

Awards for best packaging and communications were voted on by a VIP jury, while a technical jury selected the best fragrance categories.
