Selena Gomez’s Rare Beauty is entering a new category with the announcement of its first eau de parfum.
The fragrance, aptly named Rare Eau de Parfum, is described as warm and decadent with a touch of spice.
"I’ve been dreaming about this moment for so long and I’m so excited to share it with you. Our first ever Rare Beauty fine fragrance is finally here," Gomez said via Instagram.
"I wanted to create a scent that could evolve with the moment. Rare Eau de Parfum goes from quiet mornings at home to a night out with my friends and always feels just right."
The scent opens with notes of creamy caramel and pistachio, flows into a heart of rich vanilla and spicy ginger, then dries down to an earthy sandalwood.
Gomez also shared the thought that went into the bottle design.
"The bottle means a lot to me. It was thoughtfully created with accessibility in mind, so it feels just as good in your hand as the fragrance smells," she said.
Rare Beauty collaborated with a certified hand therapist and a team of packaging engineers to create a bottle that ensures "effortless and comfortable dispensing."
It comes in a rounded, gold-capped bottle designed for ergonomic ease, which can be used with a press of the palm, four fingers or one finger.
Alongside the perfume, four Fragrance Layering Balms are also being released.
Users can pick their primer – Amber Vanilla, Floral Peony Blossom, Fresh Bergamot and Woody Oak – each option providing a customisable fragrance experience.
The idea is to apply the balm to pulse points and then spray the eau de parfum on top.
"My days are never the same, so I wanted a fragrance that evolves for the moment," explained Gomez.
"Something that could take me from a quiet morning at home to a big night out – and always feels just right."
Rare Eau de Parfum will retail for $124 (50mL) and will be available exclusively in stores at Sephora and Sephora.com.au from August 7th, 2025.
