Men’s Health launches Urbanathlon

Australian Men’s Health magazine is launching its inaugural Urbanathlon, a 10.7km obstacle race, on April 22 this year. It’s the first time the international Men’s Health urban street race will take place in Australia. Currently annual Urbanathlon events take place in 11 countries around the world, including New York, Chicago and Johannesburg.

The local version will see participants will make their way through Sydney’s Darling Harbour, Barangaroo and Pyrmont.

Australian Men’s Health editor Ian Cockerill says the title is thrilled to bring the event to our shores. We have been watching its rapid growth overseas for the past few years and now can’t wait to stage what will be a fun, challenging event, mirroring the spirit of the magazine and its readers.”

Hyundai has been announced the principal sponsor of the event, alongside other sponsors including Sanitarium, Reebok, Tissot, Berocca and Life’s a Gym.

Tickets are $95, and can be purchased from the Men’s Health Urbanathlon website (http://www.urbanathlon.com.au).
