Sunday Style gets replaced

News Corp today announced its newspaper insert Sunday Style is on its way out, replaced instead with new publication Stellar. The publishing house intends the new offering to become the country’s biggest glossy, incorporating stories, entertainment, and lifestyle content, as well as a food-focus that will see 10 pages filled with recipes from delicious.

At the helm of the publication is editor-in-chief Sarrah Le Marquand. Of her appointment, Le Marquand tells B&T: “I’m looking forward to taking the reins of Stellar and creating a product that draws on the country’s best photographers and most senior writers. Stellar will have a unique mix of both flair and substance, but with an edge, and readers can expect the unexpected every Sunday.

“Our content will deliver an entertaining mix of news and celebrity features, lifestyle content assembled by Australia’s best fashion and beauty team, and then a second-to-none supplement catering to all things food.”

News Corp Australia’s managing director of metro and regional publishing Damian Eales says of the move: “The launch of Stellar is a huge investment in our Sunday audience, not only are we providing more relevant and more engaging content for our readers, advertisers now have the opportunity to reach readers every week in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. Stellar completes our Sunday offering; and together with the enhanced body+soul and Escape magazines that re-launched earlier this year, provides the most compelling Sunday read in the market.”

Joining Le Marquand’s team will be Cleo Glyde, Neale Whitaker, Marina Afonina, Matt Preston, and Donna Hay.

Stellar will make its debut on August 28, and will be available with the purchase of The Sunday Telegraph, Sunday Herald Sun, and The Sunday Mail.
