Aromatherapy Associates co-founder passes away

Aromatherapy Associates has confirmed the sad passing of the brand's inspirational co-founder and chairman, Geraldine Howard. The 63-year-old lost her three-year battle with a rare form of eye cancer on January 7.

The brand’s CEO Muriel Zingraff-Shariff comments: "Geraldine was one of the most amazing women I’ve ever met and she left a lasting, positive impression on everyone. This is an incredibly sad time but [she] would want us to celebrate her life. It was her mission in life to formulate products to help others; we will remain committed to making the transformative benefits of aromatherapy accessible to as many people as possible.

"In early 2013, because of her illness, Geraldine launched Inner Strength Bath & Shower Oil. Designed to help provide courage for anyone who is experiencing trauma, a percentage of the proceeds are donated to the Defence Against Cancer Foundation."

Jean-Philippe Barade and Chris Britton of B&B Investment Partners also offered their condolences: "This is a very sad time. Geraldine was one of the most inspiring leaders in Beauty and Wellbeing and will be missed by all. Her dedication, focus and drive enabled the development of the Aromatherapy Category and the Aromatherapy Associates Brand.

"Geraldine's commitment to both was well known. We were very privileged and honoured to play a small part in helping her achieve her vision over the last two years. We consider it our duty to ensure that Geraldine's vision and legacy lives on in Aromatherapy Associates, both in the business and the brand."
