Grin to donate brushes to kiwi kids

Grin Natural Products has launched its ‘Share A Grin’ campaign today, which aims to provide biodegradable toothbrushes to kiwi kids in need.

For every customer that purchases a Grin Natural product at New World supermarkets, a biodegradable toothbrush will be donated to a child. The company hopes to eventually donate 50,000 toothbrushes.

However, Grin felt more could be done. “In order to play our part in a more effective way, we couldn’t just give a bunch of brushes away - the promotional model on its own wouldn’t be enough. This is why we’ve created an educational layer as part of the campaign, to really address some of those underlying issues,” says Grin’s marketing manager, Paul Stokes.

Grin will offer educational resources and offline activities such as school visits to draw awareness around the importance of children’s oral health.

Currently the oral health of New Zealand children is in decline, with tooth decay being the most common chronic disease that children are hospitalised for. This campaign hopes to highlight this problem and create a tangible positive impact.

Donated toothbrushes will be distributed via local charities and organisations selected by New World, school events and through Eat My Lunch, a business which provides free lunches for children who need it.

Grin has also appointed influencer Makaia Carr as campaign ambassador and award-winning ethical PR agency Media Jam as their public relations partner.

Products can be purchased at New World supermarkets and via the Grin website.
