Interesting insights into Australians’ views on beauty

With a belief in natural beauty at the core of the company, Pears soap have conducted a study to find out how Australian women perceive timeless beauty and what makes a woman feel beautiful.

The poll surveyed more than 1000 Australian women aged 25-44, with 82 per cent of women believing a woman can wear no make-up and still be a timeless beauty. A further 71 per cent agreed that some visible smile lines contribute to being a naturally beautiful woman.

Timeless beauty was found to stem from women having confidence in themselves (74 per cent), smiling easily and readily (62 per cent), knowing the basics of good beauty routines (45 per cent), and having a good sense of humour (23 per cent).

”Women have realised that embracing their natural beauty – including grey hair, natural skin and fine lines – shows them at their most beautiful and depicts a life well-lived,” says Pears Australian ambassador Ada Nicodemou.

Inner purity and confidence are agreed by women to be the vital ingredients that make up what we see as timeless beauty. I truly believe that you can feel confident and vibrant - no matter what your age - by embracing your natural beauty.”

In terms of who inspires women to feel beautiful, partners and close friends have the most important influence (43 per cent and 31 per cent respectively), with only 5 per cent of women looking to celebrities.

The survey found 79 per cent of women believe they are most beautiful when they are feeling good about themselves. Receiving an unexpected compliment (72 per cent), healthiness (72 per cent), and being valued by their children and partner (66 per cent) also contributed to participants feeling their most beautiful.
