On trial this week - August 12

Products the bd team tested (and loved) this week.

Consisting of an exclusive vitamin and mineral blend that is triple coated with vitamins, moisturisers and conditioners as well as film formers to create a smooth, silky finish. The weightless mineral formula absorbs excess oil and delivers a natural, healthy finish.

I prefer a powder foundation over a liquid, so this one suits me to a T. I like the fact that this gives even coverage that is quite light. Some mineral foundations seem to add too much colour and are quite heavy, but as this is available in a large range of shades - the colour match is practically perfecto and it feels like I’m wearing nothing at all. It also appears to minimise the look of my pores; so bye bye big black dots and hello fresh new face. - Liz

Redken 5th Avenue NYC Tousle Whip 04

Redken Tousle Whip 04 is a soft, texturising cream-wax.

Hair irons are a godsend for a fast ‘do, but there’s nothing quite like a blowdry that leaves you with soft, full and bouncy hair. Having long hair, I sometimes find the ends can looks a bit thin and stringy, so I tried out the new Redken 5th Avenue NYC Tousle Whip 04 styling product. To use it just whack it on towel-dried hair before you blowdry for fullness from root to tip, or afterwards to define the ends and piece them out a bit. I was a bit sceptical at first – the texture seems like it’s better suited to styling short hair – but I loved the way my hair looked after I used it and it made my blowdry last longer. Plus it smells yummy! – Michelle

Features 48-hour anti-perspirant protection while being kind to the skin. The formula prevents unsightly yellow stains on white clothes and white deodorant marks on dark clothes.

As someone who often wears white T-shirts when they work out, I’ve definitely fallen victim to a yellow under-arm stain or two. For the past two weeks, I’ve switched my regular deo for the new NIVEA Invisible Black & White deodorant and have noticed a massive improvement in how my whites look by the end of the day. The smell is pleasant, not too strong, and I feel protected all day. It also means I can wear my beautiful white shirt without having to worry about taking it off at the end of the day to find nasty yellow stains under the arm. I’m pretty discerning when it comes to deodorants, and this one is my new favourite. Well done, NIVEA. - Lucy

L’Occitane Pivoine Flora Face Colour Cream Duo

This apricot coloured cream blush duo helps illuminate and warm up the face. Enriched with softening peony extract and delicately scented.

I might have been a bit slow at getting on the old cream blush bandwagon – but now I’m on it, there’s no getting off! Last week, Lucy picked up the L’Occitane cream blush in apricot for me at an event and I am well and truly hooked. Using it everyday, I love both the colour of this product and its smooth texture. Perfect for giving soft accents to the cheek bones, I feel like it gives me a spring time glow without looking too rosy cheeked. - Yelena
