Dr. LeWinn’s Synergise Toner
Like most girls, my teen years introduced me to a three-step skincare system. However, it wasn’t long before I ditched step two. Back then, my skin was clear and toning simply didn't seem to make a difference. Over the years I've had the occasional toner, but they would get used irregularly and half-heartedly before reaching the expiry date and being thrown out. When I went to the Dr LeWinn's Synergise launch I was given the toner to try. It sat unopened in my bathroom for a while, before a mild breakout saw me crack it open. This toner is nothing like the alcohol-based toners I remember using before, instead it refreshes my skin and makes it feel really clean without any tightness. The alcohol-free formula feels and smells good and has seen this toner work its way into my regular skincare routine. - Michelle
The EyeStudio Lasting Drama Gel Liner differs from a liquid eyeliner pen in the sense that it comes in the form of a pot rather than a pen. Unlike with some liquid eyeliner pens, the Drama Gel Liner formula was hard to rub off with just a dry finger - you do actually need make-up removal wipes, which means it won’t smudge (tick). It also allowed me to build coverage, as I was able to draw over my original line adding depth to the colour already there (another tick). The gel pot comes with a handy brush with a fine edge to create the most precise line. The liner lasted all day, and didn’t smudge all around my eyes like other liners usually do. – Liz
I am a true believer in serums, I think they are one product that can really maximise the results of your skincare regime. And after hearing a lot about the Arbonne RE9 range, I was thrilled to be given an opportunity to trial their serum. This anti-ageing serum is designed to support collagen synthesis and reduce fine lines and wrinkles. I found the results instant, my skin immediately appeared hydrated and firm, allowing my make-up to sit flawlessly on my skin. If I am having these amazing results after only two days use, I have pretty high hopes for my skin by the end of the bottle. Watch this space. - Bree
It's Australia Day next Thursday and the nation will be celebrating the anniversary of the arrival of the First Fleet to our sunny shores. As people take part in official Australia Day festivities or just get together with mates for a BBQ, it would be completely un-Australian not to leave your ego at the door and a) whack some fluoro zinc on your face, or b) wear something baring the Australian flag. I'm not down with face stickers or Union Jack tees, so I'll be getting patriotic with these Lash Me Oztalia Reusable Eyelashes. This citrus-based scent is fresh and summery. Notes of rose, freesia and peony work to soften the citrus scent, without making the fragrance too girly. The notes work together nicely to create a great everyday” scent.
Love
This oriental floral fragrance features notes of peony, black cherry, amber and woods. Unfortunately the black cherry really stands out to me and I find the whole thing a little overwhelming, but would be great for someone who likes a heavy scent – especially for wearing at night-time.
Live
Live would have to be my favourite of the three scents. Initially quite floral, the scent settles on the skin to become quite fruity. Notes of bergamot and gardenia make for a really nice blend, suitable for any occasion. - Lucy
When it comes to skin, I’m all about the glow. The shinier the better (and no, funnily enough I’m not talking about an oil slick or the shine you get when sweat is glistening on your skin after a heavy bout of exercise.) The Face of Australia Mineral Therapy Illuminator landed on my desk this week – a pearlised, light-reflecting pure mineral formula with jojoba and vitamins C and E to protect and nourish the skin. Straight away I picked up Angel Blush (a pink tint) and applied it to my cheeks. I absolutely loved both the colour and sheen the Mineral Therapy Illuminator provided. While a lot of illuminators give you a bronze-based glow, I loved that Face of Australia give four options – so you can choose a golden, pink or silvery base depending on what tickles your fancy. - Yelena
