Joining the long list of media companies restructuring, TVNZ has announced they too will be looking for a more digital perspective in the business, resulting in 30 positions being cut.
Head of sales and marketing Jeremy O’Brien spoke to StopPress, saying: “This is about responding to the rapidly changing media market and aligning resources towards shaping TVNZ’s future, particularly in the digital space.”
O’Brien says the proposal includes a re-ordering of business units and reporting lines, with roles being removed from the business. Despite this, some of the new positions will be contestable.
This reshuffle means some of the more senior roles within the company are changing, which will include O’Brien stepping into the role of commercial director. A move which he believes will be better positioning the company for the future.
