'Beauty matching' plastic surgery on the rise

A new plastic surgery trend has couples stepping into the surgeon's office together.

Beauty matching, a growing trend in the appearance medicine industry, is the influence of seeing your partner’s results from a procedure and then scheduling the same procedure for yourself.

A step beyond couples massages, 'beauty-matching', sees couples synchronising their treatments in an attempt to complement each other’s appearance. It’s particularly common prior to a big event such as a wedding.

Often, one partner is inspired by their partner’s previous treatment results, motivating them to join in on the next one.

Procedures range from non-invasive beauty treatments you can fit into your lunchbreak like Botox and dermal filler to more intense surgical procedures like a face lift or body augmentation. However, the overarching trend leans towards anti-ageing treatments, particularly if couples have a big age gap.

Some practices are even offering couple discounts like 'buy one get one half price'.
