The Carousel reveals its revamp

The Carousel has unveiled its facelift, recently rolling out a new, mobile-friendly look. The lifestyle website’s latest and greatest version is notably more vibrant in appearance, with a stronger emphasis on video content.

Managing editor Yvette Le Grew explains of the changes: “Aside from an aesthetic facelift with a more vibrant look and feel with improved navigation and larger imagery, we’ve introduced three new content categories (technology, travel, news) and focused the design of the new-look Carousel around mobile – to appeal to our tech-savvy and on-the-go audience. This includes an innovative new feature on mobiles and iPads where you can toggle between videos and articles.”

The Carousel’s changes were spearheaded by the website’s partnership with key sponsors Telstra and CarAdvice. Le Grew says the collaborations are working well: “We’ve joined forces with Telstra to produce a series of video-based technology pieces on the latest trends and developments and we're committed to supporting Telstra’s Women In Business initiative. Another new and exciting joint venture is our exclusive partnership with CarAdvice, which is a really natural fit for both brands. “

Beauty remains a major component of the site’s content. “We’ve upped the ante on our beauty content since Iantha Yu joined the team as our beauty editor and after some great feedback from our beauty-loving audience, we’re entering into the growing fields of male beauty and anti-ageing – along with our regular beauty content! Plus, we have been filming more beauty how to videos and collaborating with popular beauty vloggers such as Sharon Farrell – SharonTheMakeUpArtist. Our audience really love these!” says Le Grew.

The website also has plans to expand into the growing e-commerce sector, with Le Grew saying: “E-commerce is a major push for us in the next phase with a secure shopping platform and some exciting partnership chats on the burn at the moment. The Carousel community is engaged and we also want to focus on creating more User Generated Content.”
