Like everything is involved in, the brand's Congress is always packed with educational speakers, innovative launches and great experiences. And this year's Congress did not disappoint.
After a seven-year hiatus, the 2015 Congress saw a group of 30 S.H.E staff, skin centre owners and skin therapists from New Zealand travel to Las Vegas for the event. There, they joined 2,500 other members from Dermalogica worldwide to listen to 30 presenters and share new ideas, find inspiration and learn.
First up on the agenda was a speech from Dermalogica founder and leader Jane Wurwand, who talked about reconnecting with ourselves and her vision to disrupt the industry.
Other key speakers and highlights included Stuart Knight’s Powerful Conversation presentation on having deeper and more meaningful conversations with others, Charlotte Settle from Unilever’s presentation on the four big macro trends influencing our world, and FITE director Natalie Byrne's talk on the impact of FITE so far and new initiatives for the programme.
The first day also saw the launch of three new products - AGE Smart’s new Overnight Retinol Repair, the Hydrablur Primer and the Charcoal Rescue Masque.
Day two begun with Dermalogica and IDI director of global education Annet King and Teen Vogue's Phillip Picardi’s discussion on how best to market to Gen Z and the millennials and what they want from a brand. They also talked about the launch of the new Skin Soothing Hydrating Lotion.
Next, Asia Pacific education manager Emma Hobson spoke about customer service. She revealed tips, namely to listen carefully to clients and remember small gestures make lasting impressions. Hobson was followed by Leadership Embodiment founder Wendy Palmer, who discussed mindfulness and how this practice can help to reduce stress and boost confidence.
The afternoon was all about the treatment room, where guests learnt the power of combining senses together to increase experiences for a client. Following this, attendees heard about the reformulated Professional Additives, a new neck and shoulder touch therapy, and advanced product system called the Ionactive System, launching in 2016.
Wurwand closed Congress with a speech continuing the mindfulness and connectivity theme present throughout the conference, before guests headed to the end party at Cosmopolitan’s Marquee Nightclub.
