Hairdresser to the stars, Richard Kavanagh, has just been named ghd’s new Creative Director. With 25 years under his belt and plenty of backstage experience at leading shows (think Prada, Calvin Klein, Jean Paul Gaultier and Saint Laurent) this hairdressing dynamo keeps going from strenght to strength when it comes to his career.
Kavanagh's wealth of knowledge in the hair and fashion industry has made him one of Australia and New Zealand's most celebrated stylists, with his work regularly featured in the pages of Vogue Australia, Elle and Harper’s Bazaar.

As a leading hairstylist for more than 25 years, Kavanagh has worked with a large list of celebrity clients including Naomi Watts, Kelly Osbourne and Shanina Shaik. He has also travelled internationally to work with the renowned Guido Palau for elite fashion houses including Prada, Calvin Klein, Jean Paul Gaultier, and Saint Laurent. Kavanagh is the author of best-selling book ‘Love Your Hair’, and is the incumbent, triple Hair Expo ‘Session Stylist of the Year’, having received the award in 2014, 2015 and 2016.
Kavanagh joins ghd's team alongside lead ambassador and multi award-winning hair artist Jayne Wild.
