Chanel launches first fragrance in 15 years

For the first time in 15 years, luxury fashion house Chanel has revealed an entirely new fragrance.

Taking to Instagram for the announcement, Chanel posted a video of the bottle for Gabrielle – the name of the new scent.

While Chanel has reinvented iconic perfumes previously – including last year’s best-selling No.5 L’Eau – this is the first creation Chanel’s in-house perfumer Olivier Polges has created 'from scratch', and the first original fragrance since Chance was launched in 2002.

The fragrance is being held tightly under wraps, with Polge describing it as an “abstract floral”; however, the brand also confirmed via Instagram that long-time Chanel favourite Kristen Stewart would be the face.

It will be released on September 1.
