The desk edit: What's landed on our desks this month

Welcome to The Desk Edit – a monthly series where the BEAUTYDIRECTORY team shares the standout products we genuinely rate.

From skincare saviours and makeup must-haves to signature fragrances and hair heroes, every recommendation is grounded in real use and honest opinion.

Below, we break down why these new launches have earned a place in our routines – and why they might deserve a spot in yours, too.

BIODERMA Atoderm Shower Oil Cleanser ($46.99 at Chemist Warehouse) –
Aja Walter, BEAUTYDIRECTORY's Digital Editor

"The BIODERMA Atoderm Shower Oil Cleanser is a staple in my routine, helping to nourish my dry and sensitive skin. The oil texture feels luxurious and creates a rich, spa-like experience at home every single shower. It cleans gently without stripping moisture, leaving skin soft, calm, and hydrated for hours. I also love that it works beautifully for the whole family, including kids and sensitive skin types. The subtle fragrance feels soothing and fresh without being overpowering. During colder months, this cleanser keeps our skin comfortable, nourished, and healthy-looking. Definitely an essential to try out this winter."

Sebastian Professional Dark Oil ($54.95 at Amazon Australia) –
Samantha Azar, Campaign Executive

"I’ve been using the Sebastian Professional Dark Oil as a finishing step on my curly hair, and it’s quickly become a staple in my routine. Once my hair is fully dry and set with gel, I use a small amount to scrunch out the cast, and it works beautifully. It softens that crunchy feel without disrupting my curl pattern, leaving my curls defined yet touchably soft. The blend of oils, including argan oil, absorbs in seconds and leaves my hair smooth, shiny, and frizz-free. The texture is lightweight and sinks in easily, so it never feels greasy – I only need 1-2 pumps for my whole head. Plus, the scent is lovely without being overpowering. Highly recommend!"

Quick Flick 3 in 1 Hair & Body Perfume Mist ($26 at Priceline) –
Issy Webster, Head of Implementation

"I always smell the Quick Flick 3 in 1 Hair & Body Perfume Mist on our beauty editors in the office, so I had to give this a spritz for myself to see what all the fuss was about! I love that it’s a hair and body perfume mist with UV filters to help protect your hair. Personally, I’m obsessed with the watermelon scent – it’s fresh, fruity, and reminds me of the warmer months. If you prefer something sweeter, there’s also a salted caramel scent in the range. The mist is made with all the good stuff, blending argan, chia, and sunflower seed oils, which help reduce hair breakage and protect against colour fading – all while leaving you smelling delicious."

Bioré Deep Cleansing Pore Strips ($10.99 at Chemist Warehouse) –
Aja Walter, BEAUTYDIRECTORY's Digital Editor

"When a new pack of the Bioré Deep Cleansing Pore Strips landed on my desk, it reminded me how much I love them. It’s so satisfying to see how effectively they remove dirt, oil, and impurities from my pores, especially around the nose area. My skin feels smoother, clearer, and less congested instantly. They’re quick, easy to use, and perfect for an at-home mini facial treatment whenever my skin needs a deep clean. These pore strips have been a cult industry favourite for years and for good reason."

Shiseido Eyelash Curler ($21 at MECCA) –
Samantha Azar, Campaign Executive

"I’ve been using the Shiseido Eyelash Curler for a while now, and it’s easily the best lash curler I’ve tried. It gives my lashes a beautiful lift in seconds – and trust me, I’ve tried so many. The shape fits my eye really well, so it grabs even the tiny lashes in the corners without pinching or pulling. The curl also lasts all day, especially when I follow up with mascara. The cushion is soft, but still firm enough to create a smooth, even curl with just one gentle press. What I love most is how effortless it is to use – it instantly makes my lashes look longer and more lifted with minimal effort. Overall, it’s such a reliable staple that really elevates my everyday makeup routine."

QV Oil Free Moisturiser ($17.99 at Chemist Warehouse) –
Issy Webster, Head of Implementation

"If you struggle with oily skin or an oily T-zone, you need to try the QV Oil Free Moisturiser. It feels like a refreshing drink of water for your skin, without leaving behind any greasy residue. The lightweight, oil-free formula contains vitamin B3 and provitamin B5, and absorbs quickly to leave a smooth, matte finish that helps keep shine under control. I love switching to this during the warmer months because it feels so comfortable to wear and layer with makeup."
