Skin O2 wins best foundation at Global Makeup Awards

Skin O2, a brand pioneered by Australian doctor Aaron Atia, has won big at the prestigious 2023 Global Makeup Awards - Asia. The brand's latest offerings, the Skin O2 Mineral Makeup Compact and the Skin O2 Mineral BB Foundation, both won top awards for their innovative formula and skin-enhancing benefits.

The Skin O2 Mineral Makeup Compact, which is a unique brightening hybrid skincare makeup, clinched the coveted gold award. It contains a stable form of powder vitamin C and natural minerals that help lighten and protect the skin while you wear it. The Skin O2 Mineral BB Foundation was also recognised with a silver award for its ability to brighten the complexion and even skin tone with plant stem cells.

Originally created as a clean skincare makeup to help treat patients with sensitive, problematic or sun-damaged skin who were recovering from laser surgery or skin cancer treatments, Skin O2 is adored by top models and celebrities across the globe, whose careers depend on keeping their skin looking clear, bright and naturally radiant.

Skin O2 everyday hybrid makeup contains unique skin-loving ingredients to help, calm, nourish & protect the skin from everyday ageing effects such as free radicals from pollution, blue light & sun damage. This unique Doctor formula skincare makeup is free from talc and other irritating ingredients & fragrances that are often used in most standard makeups. The Skin O2 award-winning makeup is safe to use during pregnancy and is suitable for all skin types, skin shades and sexes, especially delicate, sensitive or acne-prone skin.

Alison Atia, founder & CEO of Skin O2 who also used to suffer from acne herself, explains that lots of models and actors that they have treated had suffered from acne as well as unnecessary skin irritations redness and age spots just from using heavy, pore clogging waxy or toxic makeup daily. Simply switching to a lightweight, healthy, everyday skincare makeup alternative like Skin O2 helped clear up their complexion.

"We are especially excited about winning the global makeup award for Asia. Particularly in hot Asian climates like Australasia, The Middle East and India," said Dr Atia. "Have had such fantastic feedback from celebrity doctors & thousands of patients who really appreciate our lightweight skin-protecting formulas that don't feel heavy, look unnatural, cause pore-clogging or melt off their skin like standard makeup they have tried!"

Sunday Riley announces its latest sustainability initiative

Sunday Riley continues to pioneer in sustainable beauty, announcing their partnership with CleanHub and Green Worms – a trusted and transparent global organisation that prevents plastic waste from reaching the ocean. Sunday Riley has funded the recovery of as much plastic as they emit to offset their impact on the planet, while providing critical jobs for women to collect and recycle plastic in the global south. With a goal to collect 52,022 kilos of plastic by September, Sunday Riley will not only support the environment, but they will support fair wages for women in the process.

“An estimated 11m tons of plastic enters the ocean every year and globally, only 9% of plastic gets recycled. By partnering with CleanHub, Sunday Riley has taken action on one of the biggest environmental issues we face today: the plastic crisis. The first step to becoming a CleanHub partner is to understand the company’s plastic footprint. The brand then funds the recovery of as much plastic as they emit to neutralise its impact on the planet. This directly helps to reduce the amount of plastic that will reach oceans. We provide trust and transparency in the process as we track all the plastic recovered through the CleanHub app and process it in the most environmentally sustainable way available," said Head of Impact at Clean Hub and CEO of Green Worms.

Unlike alternative approaches that are focused on recovering plastic once it is already in nature, CleanHub is stopping it from getting there in the first place. Ocean plastic pollution is solved on land, not in the sea. That’s why CleanHub are bringing waste collection systems to coastal regions where they don’t yet exist.

Sunday Riley has also partnered with Green Worms Waste Management who runs door-to-door collection services to intercept plastic waste before it can enter the environment. Every financial contribution helps to expand the model across India and creates stable and dignified jobs for women in local communities across the coastal regions. Sunday Riley’s support helps build direct waste collections from households, providing communities with access to waste management for the first time to prevent open dumping.

“We’re proud to be working with CleanHub and Green Worms to create critical and safe jobs for women in the global south, whilst making a profound difference to the environment and their lives. Over the years we have made significant contributions to organisations that align with our brand values, this includes planting trees around the world through ‘One Tree Planted’ with a goal to plant 25,000 trees this year alone. We are also proud to be plastic neutral and a B Corp certified brand, recognised for our conscious efforts and commitment to minimising our impact on the environment. It’s important to me to ensure we’re using our business as a force of good, influencing positive change wherever we have a corporate presence - which is why we’re proud to now be supporting the CleanHub and Green Worms initiative," said CEO, Founder and Product Formulator, Sunday Riley.

Chezzi Denyer is the new face of BOOST LAB

BOOST LAB has unveiled the new face of its brand, Australian TV producer and podcast host Chezzi Denyer. It’s a partnership made in heaven, particularly as Chezzi has been a fan of BOOST LAB’s Multi-Peptide Anti-Ageing Serum for some time. But, more importantly, Chezzi is perfectly aligned with BOOST LAB’s ethos of simplifying skincare through a range of targeted, concern-based serums. It was exactly this ethos that initially drew Chezzi to BOOST LAB in the first place.

After some regrettable skin care decisions in her 20s, it was crucial for the mum of three to feel like her skin was being taken care of. So Chezzi started the hunt for skincare that was quick and easy to use, that actually worked, that wouldn’t cause her dry and sensitive skin to break out, and that would target her specific skin concerns – puffy dark under eyes, uneven skin tone and dehydrated skin.

It seemed like an impossible task until she found BOOST LAB. Throw in the fact that all BOOST LAB serums are dermatologically tested, cruelty-free and free of nasties and Chezzi was sold, not to mention the product's affordability. Within weeks of using the Anti-Ageing Serum and Eye Reset after cleansing, Chezzi noticed her skin was more hydrated and dewy. The fine lines and crepey-ness around her eyes and mouth had reduced, and the skin on her neck and decolletage seemed smoother and less dry. And Chezzi wasn’t the only one who noticed; multiple friends started asking what new treatment she had found that made her skin look so fresh and glowy.

So, when BOOST LAB approached her about coming on board as an ambassador, Chezzi jumped at the chance. “As a female in her, um, late 30s… (wink wink!) Yeah, OK, 40s, I don’t like feeling older than I actually am,” Chezzi says. “And one thing I am obsessed with is skincare that actually works and doesn’t break the bank. I believe every woman deserves to have good products for their skin. And I love that BOOST LAB actually makes products that work AND are affordable, making the dream of good skin a reality for everyone! I just hope they use the firming and evening technology to create one for bumpy bottoms too one day!”

BOOST LAB launched its initial ground-breaking range of concern-based serums in Australia in 2020. The brainchild of Australian skincare expert Craig Schweighoffer and wife Lisa, who have previously co-founded home fragrance and body care brand, ECOYA. The BOOST LAB brand was inspired by Lisa’s own experience of the overwhelming – and expensive – process of trying to navigate the complicated ingredient lists in skincare and figuring out how best to use them together to achieve high glow with low effort.

As a result, BOOST LAB products target the early signs of aging by skin concern, not just by ingredient. It’s serums made simple; each serum can be seamlessly incorporated into any daily routine. Cleanse, BOOST, moisturise!
