Tried & tested: what's new in hygiene

While they aren’t the sexiest products on the market, they are the most necessary. This week the BD team tried and tested new products in the hygiene vertical; read on to hear our thoughts.

Aqium Ultra Antibacterial Hand Sanitiser – Georgie
What it is: Ego Aqium Antibacterial Ultra Hand Sanitiser Liquid kills germs and moisurises your skin at the same time, without the need for a sink!
My experience: I’ve been keeping this handy pump bottle by my desk for the last three weeks and can safely say that I probably use it about seven times a day! It’s such a handy desk-side product and doesn’t dry out the skin like many hand sanitisers tend to do. I have the tendency to become a bit obsessive about clean hands (especially when playing with beauty products all day) and this is the perfect antidote to that concern.

Natio Divine Hand Wash – Zoe
What it is: a hand wash that combines a citrusy mint aroma with nourishing plant extracts to purify and re-energise the skin.
My experience: There’s nothing I love more than a product that looks cute on my sink, but still serves a purpose – this hand wash is exactly that. The formula is thick and smells divine, and unlike most hand soaps doesn’t leave my hands feeling dry thanks to the apricot kernel, jojoba and sesame. I’ve partnered this with the Natio Revitalise Hand Balm to replenish the skin and help hard-working hands stay soft.

Proactiv+ Cleansing Body Bar – Tiarne
What it is: A deep-cleansing, exfoliating, lather-rich bar with 2.5 per cent salicylic acid that fights face and body breakouts all over.
My experience: I’ve been using this on my shoulders and back for the last few weeks because my body gets the occasional breakout, especially when I’ve been exercising. I have noticed that my skin feels smoother and I’ve had fewer body breakouts since I started using this body bar. It has dried my hands out a bit, so I’ve had to start using hand cream more frequently. I am overall very happy with this product and will continue using for more results!

Blackmores Probiotics+ Daily Health – Tash
What it is: Probiotic capsules to promote the maintenance of good/healthy intestinal environment.
My experience: Gut health is very on trend at the moment - I am trying to consume all the probiotics that I can get my hands on. These probiotic capsules are so convenient to take everyday and at times when I cannot reach for the yoghurt, I have piece of mind that I am getting my fix for the day. Taking these probiotics regularly have made a noticeable difference to the comfort of my stomach and helped to reduce bloating. Convenient little capsules of health!

Scholl Fresh Step Antiperspirant – Laura
What it is: An anti-perspirant foot spray to ensure feet stay fresh throughout the day.
My experience: I really liked the idea of this product, especially as I’ve been getting back into the gym more. I enjoyed the scent as it wasn’t too overpowering and I did notice that it kept my feet smelling nice all day.
